Boudica Bay finished second at Newcastle recently on seasonal reappearance and could prove the main danger, just ahead of two-time course winner Guardia Svizzera.

KRAKEN POWER was probably just outstayed when narrowly defeated at Pontefract on debut earlier this month and, now tackling a sharper 6f, is taken to go one better for Iain Jardine. His dam is a half-sister to plenty of 5f winners and the selection might just have too much pace for a field that includes four newcomers. The best of those might be Salsoul, who is related to a juvenile scorer over this trip, and Bergerac, whose price rose to 75,000 pounds as a yearling.

DEVIL'S ANGEL was just touched off into second at Ripon over the weekend and, given the promise shown there, it is no surprise to see this John Dance-owned gelding back out so quickly. That was a big step forward from his modest Newcastle reappearance and this sharper track might just suit the four-year-old better. Amazing Alba is 0-15 in her career so far but did place three times last season, while Socru is 4lb lower than when scoring on his seasonal reappearance last year at Doncaster.

EYE SMILING got off the mark in decisive fashion at Chelmsford last week and a 6lb penalty for that victory is unlikely to stop her from taking this moderate contest as well. The shortlist is completed by Big City and Rusalka.
