Archimedes took a step back in the right direction when second at Southwell, but needs to up his game again.

Notforalongtime looked progressive when winning two in a row on the all-weather and could improve now on grass, while Indie Angel and 200-1 Newbury scorer Intercessor are others worthy of consideration.

Prince Imperial's Chelmsford victory in October was impressive but he is only a three-year-old and has to carry a 7lb penalty for Sir Michael Stoute. First Winter failed to build on his promising Lingfield debut when fourth at Yarmouth earlier this month but probably had a few excuses, although Charlie Appleby's charge might be short enough in the betting again, and ROBERTO ESCOBARR is worth a chance. Third at Haydock three weeks ago and a brother to smart stablemate Pablo Escobarr, a better start this time could make all the difference.

Semser, who recently returned a beaten favourite when second on debut over 1m at Kempton, is also worth noting.

Ed Walker's charge is entitled to strip fitter for that outing and is expected remain competitive in the face of a 3lb rise. Squelch found an extended 1m1f sharp enough when dead-heating for victory at Wolverhampton last time and could benefit from this step up in trip, while recent Newmarket second Echo could also feasibly take a hand.

Sir Mark Prescott inmate REVOLVER was firing blanks over 7f last season but since being stepped up in trip and moving into handicaps he has won both times and is expected to complete a hat-trick with the minimum of fuss here. Selsey Sizzler picked up minor money off this mark at Yarmouth last time and should be thereabouts, though a bigger danger to the selection may be Newmarket second Single now she steps up from 1m4f.
