Rose Hip enjoyed a fine 2019 and made a solid start to this year when third at Newmarket, while Jamaheery shaped in need of the outing when last at Kempton on handicap debut.

COUNT D'ORSAY probably found the step up to 6f too much when down the field in the Silver Wokingham at Royal Ascot but his return effort, when third at Newmarket, suggested a handicap of this nature was well within his grasp. A Momentofmadness finished second in last year's Portland at this course and is of interest in a tongue-tie for the first time, while Arecibo and Camacho Chief are others to note in a competitive event.

ZEPHYRINA doesn't have many miles on the clock and ran with a fair amount of encouragement when fifth on her return at Pontefract last month. The handicapper dropped her 3lb for that outing and she is entitled to come forward from that performance. Ghadbbaan produced his best effort so far when third at Leicester and he can enter the reckoning along with Turntable, who was behind the selection at Pontefract but raced too freely, and Perfect Swiss.

DUCK AND VANISH benefited from both a wind operation and step up in trip when beaten just a head at Lingfield on his reappearance and William Haggas' Lope De Vega colt could get off the mark now if in the same form. Postileo and Zeeband give Roger Varian a strong hand and could easily improve on their opening efforts, but it is of note that the owner's retained rider has sided with Simon & Ed Crisford's Without A Fight, who was an encouraging third in a Newbury maiden that is working out fairly well, on debut.

Air Force Amy wasn't beaten far off this mark when second at Windsor last time and Mick Channon's four-year-old is entitled to plenty of respect once again, while Mankayan's Sandown reappearance was highly respectable and he warrants consideration dropping back in trip. Edmond Dantes was handed a 5lb rise for his recent Newbury win, but his apprentice rider's claim nullifies that burden, with course-and-distance winner Bollin Joan offering plenty of value. However, a chance is taken on BLUE RAMBLER, who has finished second on all three appearances at this venue (twice over hurdles, once on the Flat) and is interesting tried in blinkers on his first outing for Dave Roberts. The admirable 10-year-old hasn't been seen for some time, but is well treated if fully firing for his return to the track.

WILFY went down fighting when second at Chepstow earlier this week and could come out on top this time, if in the same form, off the same rating. Sports Reporter was beaten less than a length when third over 5f at Musselburgh and could benefit from the extra furlong he encounters now. Rogue Tide, Harbour Point and Stittenham Wood are all respected, the latter staying on well for fourth over track-and-trip off this rating last time.
