Newgate Angel proved her 22/1 Redcar second was no fluke when returning there to occupy the same position. She was beaten a good distance and while she will undoubtedly run her race again, LYONS LANE could have her measure. Julie Camacho's filly went close to breaking her duck when beaten less a length into third over C&D, and she had a subsequent winner just behind her. Independence Day isn't out of it either.
Prediction : 1st Lyons Lane 2nd Newgate Angel 3rd Independence Day

MAMBA WAMBA made a debut full of promise but a tilt at the Queen Mary still appeared to be flying too high. She surpassed expectations in eighth, though, and looks a smart juvenile. There was a good word for Susucaru prior to her Pontefract introduction and while she had to play second fiddle to a rival with previous experience, there was plenty of encouragement to take from the performance. Dandy's Max has hit the crossbar in both outings so far, while Diamond Haze made the frame on his Redcar debut.
Prediction : 1st Mamba Wamba 2nd Susucaru 3rd Dandys Max

None of these have won so far, but PULL HARDER CON has returned from the shutdown a much improved animal, most recently taking third at Wolverhampton only on Friday, and he will be hard to beat if transferring that form to turf. The Grey Bay showed the benefit of a gelding operation with his career-best third at Beverley, while Speedymining displayed more at Southwell when last seen and starts handicap life on a lowly rating.
Prediction : 1st Pull Harder Con 2nd The Grey Bay 3rd Speedymining

Great Colaci defied a 15-month absence when making a triumphant comeback Newcastle, although this comes soon enough for the bounce factor to be a legitimate concern. German import Kingi Compton almost caused a massive upset on the same day at Redcar, but this can go the way of MORETTI. Les Eyre's mare was unlucky when coming within a whisker of victory here last week, and connections are wise to get her out again quickly off the same mark.
Prediction : 1st Moretti 2nd Great Colaci 3rd Kingi Compton

Confide didn't see a racecourse until June of his four-year-old season but showed why connections have persevered when stamping his quality on a Redcar maiden. He does have to concede 9lb to MAGNETISED and it may prove beyond him because Roger Varian's well-bred son of Shamardal looked a colt with a future when striking at the first time of asking at Doncaster back in the autumn. Rogue Assassin is the third once-raced winner in the line-up, and there was no fluke about his Haydock surprise. Give Ilaraab some thought too.
Prediction : 1st Magnetised 2nd Confide 3rd Rogue Assassin

19:30 Thirsk

MONTATHER boasts an official rating of 94 and looks well worth it, tasting success at the first time of asking at Chelmsford back in November before returning with a third at Newmarket. He didn't settle properly but still ran really well in the circumstances, and the outing should have helped get some of the freshness out of him. One Idea made a debut full of promise when third behind a winner who is now rated 97, so he has to be considered a danger on his reappearance. The newcomer Artistic Vision wouldn't have to be anything special to grab third.
Prediction : 1st Montather 2nd One Idea 3rd Artistic Vision

ROSA GOLD was transformed by the switch to turf and handicap company at Leicester, running out an emphatic winner. Rae Guest gets her out quickly before the assessor can take revenge, and the decision can be rewarded. Aiden's Reward is improving nicely and so nearly supplemented his breakthrough Newcastle victory over this C&D. Carriesmatic made a solid comeback at Redcar, and there are some interesting handicap newcomers in here too, notably Sushi Power and Puckle.
Prediction : 1st Rosa Gold 2nd Aidens Reward 3rd Sushi Power

20:30 Thirsk

BROCTUNE RED returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines when finding only one too strong at Redcar, and then went even closer to that elusive first success at Doncaster. His conqueror on Town Moor is bang in form and Gillian Boanas' representative can go one better. Burguillos has performed with credit since joining Luke McJannet and should do so again, with Travel Lightly and Glaceon also worthy of places on the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Broctune Red 2nd Burguillos 3rd Travel Lightly

21:00 Thirsk

Nearly There was in fine fettle over 2m at Newcastle earlier in the year and ran to that sort of level again when dropped in trip and switched to turf at Pontefract. Ateescomponent is turned out again following last week's Leicester second, but KITTY'S COVE also makes a swift reappearance and her Catterick third suggested that her turn could be imminent. Ezanak went close at Musselburgh and is another to back up quickly.
Prediction : 1st Kittys Cove 2nd Nearly There 3rd Ezanak
