Any money for newcomer Cubano is worth heeding, while Broxy could build on his modest third here last time.

Harbour Front was in fine form at Southwell earlier in the year and could go well if prove as effective on turf, but CLEARANCE looks the one to side with. Flat To The Max has claims on his form on the all-weather this winter, while Indian Vision has been very lightly raced of late but could go well.

YORKSHIRE PIRLO ran a really solid race when beaten less than a length into third on debut at Redcar and normal improvement could see him strike. Tantastic was a good second on his debut before floundering in the Windsor Castle at Ascot and might find this company more like it, while Acklam Express was completely unfancied on his first outing at Beverley and could build on that third-placed effort.

Nine of the 11 declared runners have won over C&D in the past so this really is a battle between track specialists. The vote goes to BOUDICA BAY, who had plenty in hand when winning at Redcar recently and could feasibly shake off a 6lb rise. Gowanbuster is turned out under a penalty for his comfortable track-and-trip success 10 days ago and can fight it out for the silver medal with Royal Brave, who has dropped 16lb below his last winning mark.

KUPA RIVER was thwarted by less than a length off this mark at Thirsk last time and is expected to mount another bold bid now returning over the same trip. Highland Acclaim rattled the crossbar at Catterick over 6f last time and could go well now moving back up to 7f, while Lagenda, a C&D winner, could also take a hand now dropping back from a mile.

TEMPER TRAP turned in an improved effort on his handicap debut over 1m at Thirsk last time and should be thereabouts on these terms if running to a similar level of form over this shorter trip. Deeds Not Words went close in a similar contest over this trip at Wolverhampton last time and is feared most, though a big run from Deconso could also be on the cards from his low draw.

Handicap debutants Hua Milan and Easy Desire could well prove better than they've shown so far, while Bad Rabbit didn't show a great deal on his reappearance at Beverley but a 3lb lower mark here could see him in a better light. NOBBY NUTS gets the vote, though, as he improved for the switch to handicaps and step up to this trip to take a close third at this track last time and further progress would not surprise.

FLOOD DEFENCE could prove capable of defying a 5lb penalty here. Iain Jardine's mare was a shade keen in the early stages over C&D last time but still had enough in the tank to win well. She could be good value for that extra weight, especially if setting better early on. Majestic Stone ran on for second over 10 furlongs at Pontefract last time and could relish this trip, while Mapped drops in distance after a fair fourth last time.
