Oddschecker tips for every race at Roscommon on Monday.
On his first start for Peter Fahey EARL OF DESMOND may be worth chancing. Out of seven time winner, Gemini Lucy, the selection, a son of Presenting, could be suited by dropping in trip and racing on better ground. Owned by Basil Holian, so well known in coursing circles with great greyhounds such as Watchman and Rumour Has It, aspirations for Earl Of Desmond would doubtless have been reasonably high when he was bought for 80,000 Euros at the Derby Sale in 2018. He hasn't run since January but the Fahey yard sent out a winner lately and Gavin Brouder's mount is likely to be well primed for this assignment as the company he's keeping isn't the most taxing. Samba Dancer, Hardy Man (both rated 105), The Wonky Tonk (104) and Jess's Corner (99) all make the short-list.Prediction : 1st Earl Of Desmond 2nd Samba Dancer 3rd Hardy Man
The 130-rated four-year-old RECENT REVELATIONS looks the one here. Gordon Elliott also has The Very Man in the mix but he lacks the benefit of a recent run having not been seen out since March. Recent Revelations is back in trip after finding Jessica Harrington's mare, Barrington Court, a length and a quarter his superior over two and a half miles at Tipperary twelve days back. The Moohaajim gelding could do with smartening up a bit in the jumping department and that being the case on this summer ground he can account for this opposition. De Mazzaro and Cafe Con Leche can at least contend for placings in the frame.Prediction : 1st Recent Revelations 2nd The Very Man 3rd De Mazzaro
CHASING ABBEY caught the eye at this venue last time on his reappearance off a 342 day break. On that occasion over a furlong further the Yeats gelding got a patient steer from a rear of mid-division sit, and he could have done without the couple of slight mistakes that he made on the way around. However he got into a position to chase the leaders in the straight, keeping on without threatening from before two out. He ended up in third, beaten four lengths and a length and three parts behind Quamino and Mutadaffeq. The six-year-old is up a pound in the handicap for that effort, which definitely served notice that his turn shouldn't be long delayed. Paul Flynn's charge is a course winning maiden hurdler, that success coming around this time last year. In a competitive enough looking heat all told, last time out scorers Cornakill Rose, Tiger Twenty Two and Bread And Butter are certainly worthy of consideration.Prediction : 1st Chasing Abbey 2nd Cornakill Rose 3rd Tiger Twenty Two
Gordon Elliott had two runners in a recent Tipperary bumper, Mr Jackman and Papal Lodge. Both were first-timers, and Jamie Codd won on Mr Jackman and Lisa O'Neill finished third on Papal Lodge. Here Codd and O'Neill are on another couple of debutants from Cullentra House. Codd is on WESEEKHIMHERE, and he gets the nod ahead of O'Neill on The Greek, and some other interesting contenders. Weseekhimhere is part-owned by Blessington auctioneer, John Doyle, and of course he enjoyed a famous day when Festival D'Ex struck at the first time of asking under Codd in the 2019 Goffs Land Rover Bumper. Doyle has Weseekhimhere with Caren Walsh and he's an eye-catching sort, bred by Peter and Antoinette Kavanagh at Kildaragh Stud. Many good horses have emerged from that source. Big Jim Dwyer, Hardwired and Birthday Bayeb are other likely contenders.Prediction : 1st Weseekhimhere 2nd The Greek 3rd Big Jim Dwyer
I'M A GAME CHANGER mightn't be as solid as his 141 rating would imply. On his return on July 1st, the Arcadio gelding was very easy in the market as money chiefly came for Dommage Pour Toi at Tipperary. As it turned out the market-leaders bit the dust as Polished Steel impressed on chase debut from the front, accounting for I'm A Game Changer and the rest by seven and a half lengths and more. I'm A Game Changer is back at two miles now, and after placing at Grade Three level, perhaps he can make it seventh time lucky over fences. Gordon Elliott, trainer of the selection, also has Make My Heart Fly in contention. A place in the frame might be the best she can manage. Email Rose and Scheu Time are noteworthy first-timers over fences.Prediction : 1st Im A Game Changer 2nd Make My Heart Fly 3rd Email Rose
FRIARY GOLD (a little out of the handicap) is now listed with a 96-rating over hurdles, after a win at Killarney last week. He competes here off 87 and he should be very competitive with just nine stone twelve on his back. The Mountain High gelding hasn't always had the happiest of experiences over the larger obstacles but he was point-to-pointing as early as December 2016 so he's certainly had schooling in this discipline for long enough. Thisonesforollie was 'robbed' late on at Kilbeggan last time. She got three pounds for that three parts of a length defeat to Maureen's Star. She'll likely be there or thereabouts again. Some of the rest of these need to bounce back to form. Stamp Your Feet could do so, beginning for Enda Bolger. Rocky Court also has a new trainer in Dermot McLoughlin.Prediction : 1st Friary Gold 2nd Thisonesforollie 3rd Stamp Your Feet
DOCTOR DUFFY was nicely supported to make a winning chase debut at Tipperary recently. Second favourite then in a decent heat, Doctor Duffy was never in the hunt behind all-the-way victor, Polished Steel. A mistake at the first certainly didn't aid his cause on that occasion, and going up here to an extended three miles one should be all in his favour. Braid Blue and Stacks Mountain start off over fences and have the ability to make their presence felt, though we haven't seen either of them for a while. No doubt they'll have done plenty of schooling with Dortmund Park since he last ran. A Grade One winning novice hurdler, he could be a huge player. Macgiloney and The White Volcano can show up well without threatening for win purposes.Prediction : 1st Doctor Duffy 2nd Braid Blue 3rd Stacks Mountain
