FERROBIN was rated in the mid-130s at his peak over hurdles and Dan Skelton's six-year-old has the chance to take advantage of a lenient looking mark of 117 as he turns his attention to the larger obstacles at a venue the handler has a 22-percent strike-rate at. Thibault has plenty of ability and could figure if this isn't a touch on the sharp side, while Green Or Black and Youracert are both respected on their first outing over fences.
Prediction : 1st Ferrobin 2nd Thibault 3rd Youracert

HIDDEN GLEN was an encouraging second on his first outing for Dr Richard Newland at Newton Abbot last week and has the chance to go one better off the same rating, at a venue he has scored at in the past. The veteran Riddlestown is back down to his last winning mark and the course-and-distance specialist often saves his best for this track. Scartare was a consistent performer over fences last term and is respected despite conditions looking a little on the quick side for Rosemary Gasson's nine-year-old to be seen at his very best.
Prediction : 1st Hidden Glen 2nd Riddlestown 3rd Scartare

As You Like thrived in the summer last year and even though the handicapper looks to have caught up with him at present, the step up to three miles could eke out some improvement. New Quay is yet to hit his ceiling in this sphere and has to be respected for a team who often do well at this venue. However, a chance is taken on KNOCKROBIN, who was a winner at Catterick on New Year's Day and wasn't disgraced when second off this mark at Doncaster when last seen.
Prediction : 1st Knockrobin 2nd As You Like 3rd New Quay

GO HARD OR GO HOME thrived in first-time blinkers when scoring comfortably at Hereford in March and despite being hit with an 8lb rise, could take plenty of beating with that headgear and the tongue-tie in operation once again. Net Love has been handed a tough opening mark by the assessor, but has shown she possesses plenty of ability and Charlie Hammond's 3lb allowance is a positive. Coole Lion is another handicap debutant to consider in first-time cheekpieces.
Prediction : 1st Go Hard Or Go Home 2nd Net Love 3rd Coole Lion

MEDALLA DE ORO sets a decent standard on his win and placed efforts at Fakenham and over C&D respectively and he's hard to oppose. Perfect Grace has some good Flat form under her belt (when trained by Archie Watson) and is likely to run well on her NH/stable debut, while any market support for Sean Curran's French import Doukarov could well be worth noting.
Prediction : 1st Medalla De Oro 2nd Perfect Grace 3rd Doukarov

Soupy Soups switches back to hurdles off the same mark as when placed in a Listed handicap chase two starts ago and he should run a big race, but preference is for a race-fit RHYTHM IS A DANCER. There was much to like about his comeback third over an extended 2m4f here and he could prove tough to beat stepping back up in trip off a 1lb higher mark. The returning Jacks Last Hope also merits consideration.
Prediction : 1st Rhythm Is A Dancer 2nd Soupy Soups 3rd Jacks Last Hope

Makety was only beaten a neck in a Fakenham handicap in January and must enter calculations on her reappearance, but ELLARNA gets the vote. She has some smart bumper form under her belt and reportedly had a breathing problem when pulling up on her hurdling debut at Newcastle in November. Freshened up since and tackling much better ground, she deserves another chance. Golden Emblem and Fleur Du Seuil are others to note.
Prediction : 1st Ellarna 2nd Makety 3rd Golden Emblem

GLENDUN arrives here fit after a couple of promising runs on the Flat, including when second at Yarmouth 10 days ago behind a progressive type, and could take some beating back over hurdles despite carrying top weight. The six-year-old was second when last seen in this sphere at Plumpton, conceding loads of weight to the winner, and remains capable of better. Emily Webb shaped like her turn might be near when finding one too good at Market Rasen in September, while Going Mobile is also respected if turned out again after a placed effort over fences at Bangor on Sunday.
Prediction : 1st Glendun 2nd Emily Webb 3rd Going Mobile

HURRICANE HERO doesn't exactly look to be ahead of his mark, but this return to action after a break on better ground is expected to suit and it is interesting that Richard Johnson rides for the first time. Only a four-year-old, he doesn't have many miles on the clock and this isn't a great race. Musical Stardust appreciates a decent surface and ran well fresh last season, while It Can Be Done is on a tempting mark of 92 and is surely capable of better than what he has produced so far.
Prediction : 1st Hurricane Hero 2nd Musical Stardust 3rd It Can Be Done

17:05 Southwell

Olly Murphy has been in good form since the resumption of National Hunt racing, most notably at this venue, but Hypnos will have to improve on what he has shown over hurdles so far in order to have a say on his handicap debut. Phil Kirby does well with new recruits and, despite an absence of 411 days, GALARDO is an intriguing contender for the North Yorkshire handler. Still relatively unexposed, a mark of 97 seems fair and he showed ability on his last Irish start. Lilypad has been running consistently on the Flat and also holds sound claims.
Prediction : 1st Galardo 2nd Lilypad 3rd Hypnos
