Aidan O'Brien has won six of the last nine runnings of this contest and he appears to have another excellent chance with WEMBLEY this time around. This full-brother to Group 1 winner Johannes Vermeer had both Mac Swiney (fifth) and Snowy Owl (eighth) behind when a promising third on his debut over course and distance last month and he can confirm that form en route to landing the spoils in this event. Colour Sergeant made a pleasing introduction over 6f at Fairyhouse and will likely improve for this step up in trip, while Hms Seahorse, Cold Steel and Erzindjan are all respected newcomers.
Prediction : 1st Wembley 2nd Colour Sergeant 3rd Cold Steel

TWILIGHT PAYMENT was the winner of this 12 months ago when trained by Jim Bolger and looks the one to side with once again having opened his account for Joseph O'Brien when taking the Group 3 Vintage Crop Stakes over track and trip last month. Stablemate Master Of Reality was back in sixth in that aforementioned contest, but the Melbourne Cup fourth is a useful operator who gives the handler a strong hand in this. Recent Fairyhouse winner Memorabilis and Camphor could also get involved now stepping up in distance.
Prediction : 1st Twilight Payment 2nd Master Of Reality 3rd Memorabilis

ALEXEI VRONSKY had shown very little in three starts for Michael O'Callaghan last season, but looked to be on a fair mark on his handicap debut and duly obliged to land a gamble at Roscommon last month. The step up in trip proved key, and a 9lb rise might not be enough to stop the three-year-old going in again here. Charlie Bassett was beaten a short-head at Fairyhouse a fortnight ago and could go close again, while David Garrick is consistent and also makes some appeal.
Prediction : 1st Alexei Vronsky 2nd Charlie Bassett 3rd David Garrick

Romanised took this race prior to winning the Prix Jacques le Marois last year and he ended his 2019 campaign by going down by just a nose to Circus Maximus in the Prix du Moulin. The five-year-old clearly merits the utmost respect but he could be vulnerable on his first start in 314 days. With that in mind, the votes goes to LANCASTER HOUSE, who remains unexposed and he put in a career best when impressively winning the Gladness over C&D last month. The aforementioned pair may prove to be too good for Buffer Zone but he is a consistent performer at this track and he should be in the mix for the minor money, along with Surrounding.
Prediction : 1st Lancaster House 2nd Romanised 3rd Buffer Zone

LAUGH A MINUTE enjoyed plenty of success during his time with Roger Varian and after a small period of going a bit stale for that yard, Adrian McGuinness looks to have rejuvenated him. He was mightily impressive when winning over a similar trip to this at Limerick last month and entitled to improve for that first outing since February, another bold bid looks assured. Urban Beat has been hammering on the door over shorter distances and is likely to be in the shake-up again, while Ardhoomey also merits respect following two cracking efforts over 6f at this venue.
Prediction : 1st Laugh A Minute 2nd Urban Beat 3rd Ardhoomey

MERCHANTS QUAY has improved between runs for Aidan O'Brien and relished the step up from 5f when landing a course-and-distance maiden last month. There is likely more improvement to come from the No Nay Never colt over this trip and he shades the vote ahead of Lucky Vega, who won on debut at Naas for Jessica Harrington, and To Glory, who kept on well when scoring first time out over an extended 6f at Limerick.
Prediction : 1st Merchants Quay 2nd Lucky Vega 3rd To Glory

Aidan O'Brien has a typically strong squad for this and it is ENNISTYMON, who has had to settle for a supporting role at Royal Ascot and then behind stablemate Love in the Oaks, who could get her moment in the spotlight. Passion did well to finish fifth at Epsom considering the pace she set in the early stages, and strengthens the Ballydoyle hand alongside Munster Oaks winner Snow. Cayenne Pepper ran the perfect trial for this when chasing home Magical for second in the Pretty Polly Stakes and is another who has to be taken seriously.
Prediction : 1st Ennistymon 2nd Passion 3rd Cayenne Pepper

WALKING ON GLASS won with plenty in hand on his return to the Flat last month and the son of Big Bad Bob merits the utmost respect this evening, despite a 9lb rise in the ratings. Tonkinese is an obvious threat to the selection having won the Apprentice Derby over C&D recently, while Wajaaha also makes the shortlist following his easy win at Limerick 19 days ago. Others to consider are On The Balcony and Princess Zoe.
Prediction : 1st Walking On Glass 2nd Tonkinese 3rd Wajaaha
