ROLL OF THUNDER struck over 2m4f here last summer and ran well over this shorter trip when dotting up by 10 lengths at Hexham in September. He's rated 10lb higher than his last winning mark but is one to monitor in the betting on his seasonal bow. Agentleman picked up minor money off this mark over 2m1f at Stratford earlier in the month and can fight it out with Elixer, who finished fifth in the same race, for the silver medal.

MONSIEUR CO had a blowout on the Flat in the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot and is interesting now moving back over fences. Keith Dalgleish's seven-year-old has dropped to within 1lb of his last winning mark and is weighted to strike anytime soon. Chateau Robin and C&D winner Imada both have absences to overcome but they have the ability needed to make an impact in this company if fully wound up.

CLEVER AS A FOX returned to winning ways over this trip at Uttoxeter last time and is expected to defy a 7lb rise and follow up to notch a double. Ardera Cross appears nicely treated relative to his latest chase form and commands respect as a C&D winner, while Amalfi Doug recorded a double here last summer and rates best of the remainder.

BOOK OF INVASIONS has had a wind operation and joined Lucinda Russell since his last disappointing run and those factors, as well as the switch to handicap company, could see the former Huntingdon novice hurdle winner strike. Highway Companion has an 8lb hike to contend with for his Musselburgh success in January but he did run well in a jumpers' bumper at Wolverhampton last time, while Cedar Hill is interesting on his first start for Sandy Thomson after running a fair third at Sedgefield for Iain Jardine latest.

Istimraar was not disgraced at Stratford earlier this month and could go well off 1lb lower, while Rising Marienbard has slipped to an attractive mark, especially if a wind operation has improved him. The latter's stablemate Prince Dundee was pulled up when last seen but was a model of consistency before that, though preference is for DUTCH CANYON. Stuart Coltherd's 10-year-old completed a hat-trick last summer, but is only 3lb higher than the latest of those wins after failing to fire at Uttoxeter. At his best when dictating the pace, he could get that opportunity here.

The former Paul Nicholls inmate SOUTHFIELD TORR has not been seen for some time, but the handicapper may have taken a chance in dropping him to the same mark as when successful at Wincanton for his debut for Mark Bradstock. Lastofthecosmics gets another chance off the same rating as when third at Sedgefield when last seen, while Raymond ran well in a jumpers' bumper at Newcastle in February and could be a factor in this.

King's Wharf has found only one too good on three of his last four starts and merits respect, while Chosen Flame has a chance on the pick of his form.
