UK Horse Racing Tips: Naas

GISELLES THUNDER ran a promising race when second on debut at Navan last month and can win this. By promising stallion Night Of Thunder, she is a sister to an Italian Listed winner and having been well supported on debut, ran very well when finishing ahead of Dense Star. GISELLES THUNDER can confirm placings and has a nice future. Dense Star was the beaten favourite at Navan and while she subsequently proved her worth with another good runner-up effort at Cork, might again find the selection too strong. Tammany Hall has shown useful ability on his two starts but probably needs to improve to win. Urban Beat was bought by current connections for just €2,200 as a yearling and is already gelded but is the 10th foal from a dam who has already produced five winners. Steel Bull was a 28,000Gbp breeze-up purchase and hails from a fast family. Ginato is also gelded on debut and is a half-brother to three winners.

MULTIPLY BY EIGHT can make a winning Irish debut for her new trainer. A half-sister to a Group 2 winner and two other useful performers, she showed a good level of ability in England last year, and finished 12th of 25 in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot. Her two subsequent runs were underwhelming but the first of those was on the all-weather which, possibly, might not have suited and she comes here a fresh filly, albeit without a recent run, but from a yard which is making giant strides. Mudawy could be a danger, representing a yard which has hit form with three winners in the past 10 days. His lack of a previous run is clearly a concern being a late-coming 3yo, but he is by Dark Angel and is from an unraced dam whose family have produced some smart performers. It is also notable Chris Hayes takes the spin on Mudawy over twice-raced stablemate Daayeb, who is admittedly ordinary. Taggalo has some nice recent form, having run well twice for Johnny Murtagh this year. Rated 73, she is clearly vulnerable to any more able performers but will be suited by trip and ground. King Of Stars has disappointed twice since a promising run at Tipperary in June but could play some part today while Allez Allez Allez is similarly frustrating but is nonetheless proven at this level and can also play a part. Gold Factory drops down to 6f following a disappointing run last month.

FOREVER IN DREAMS might overturn Millisle and win this. FOREVER IN DREAMS is already a Listed winner, having done so as a 3yo and also finished second in last year's Group 1 Commonwealth Cup. She comes here having run two solid races in defeat (behind Sceptical at Naas), is very much proven at this trip, and on adjusted ratings has 3lbs in hand over Millisle. Millisle capped her juvenile campaign with a Group 1 Cheveley Park win last September and while she has failed to replicate that level of ability in three runs this year, has shown more at this trip on her last two starts and ran a solid race when second over today's course and distance earlier this month. She was well held by the winner at Naas and while the first two finishers were clear of the third placed horse, Millisle could struggle to beat the selection today. Unforgetable is herself a smart filly, and having chased home top class Love in the Silver Flash Stakes last year, competed in the Breeders' Cup subsequently (albeit finishing 13th of 14). Her form this year has been consistently strong but might struggle to win today. Back To Brussels showed big improvement at Cork latest and could reach the placings, having finishing ahead of proven black-type performers Pronouncement (third), Lady Penelope (fifth) and Precious Moments (seventh).

KOSMAN can defy top weight and win despite reservations around today's trip. He has proven himself in this grade and having won over 7f here last month, chased home 'well-in' Star Of Cashel (who subsequently improved his rating to 91) at Roscommon earlier this month. He is not in Star Of Cashel's grade and would ideally prefer 7f but this looks a suitable race and his rider again takes off 3lbs. Talking Tough was fourth in that Roscommon race, finishing ahead of Ioronta (seventh), Mogwili (ninth) but has a wide draw in 18. Eglish beat the selection when winning at Dundalk earlier this year and while she has now won three times, all her best form has been on the all-weather. Red Pantz ran a nice race on her third run in a maiden latest and could go well on handicap debut. Myrcella was well held by the winner at Sligo latest and is now tried in first-time cheekpieces while slow starting Red Beacon showed improved form in first-time blinkers at Dundalk recently and is interesting, albeit dropping to 6f might not be ideal.

SMASH WILLIAMS hasn't won since October 2018 but this race looks nicely framed for him and he may be able to get back into the winners enclosure. The Fracas gelding has been consistently thereabouts since scoring at Listed level a couple of seasons ago and ran particularly well when fourth in the Group 2 Greenlands Stakes on his penultimate outing. It was another solid effort when sixth at Fairyhouse last time and he is fancied to turn the tables now on Ballydoyle three-year-old King Of Athens, who was fourth then but is 5lb worse off. Could Be King was behind the selection at Fairyhouse, having missed the kick slightly, and it would be no surprise if he proved a bigger danger now.

SHAMIYNA is fitted with a hood now after running freely on her most recent outing at the Curragh. She just got lit up a bit then after missing the kick and it was no surprise that she faded in the closing stages after making rapid progress shortly after halfway. Her debut performance, when just losing out to Oaks runner-up Ennistymon, reads very well and on that showing she'd be hard to beat. Dermot Weld also runs Tasalka, rated 88, and if she comes forward from her debut run at Naas last month, when fourth to impressive winner Elfin Queen, she would also be a big player. Ballydoyle filly Prose drops back in trip after proving no match for Afterglow over a mile-and-a-half at Fairyhouse last time and she is another that has to come into calculations.

Aidan O'Brien runs two 107-rated performers in this and DAWN PATROL looks the pick of the pair. This represents a significant drop in class now for the Galileo colt who finished third to stablemate Santiago in the Irish Derby on his last outing. Order Of Australia was a length-and-a-quarter behind him at the Curragh and has since performed with credit in the Prix du Jockey Club, finishing mid-division after making the running. These two classy colts should have this maiden between them. Daylight Come has been in the money on his three runs but will find easier opportunities.
