DIGITAL has picked up the silver medal on both starts over this trip and should be thereabouts if running to his official rating of 80. Blind Beggar bumped into a smart sort in Muker when fourth on debut at York and is expected to step up on that performance to take closer order. Any money for Richard Fahey's newcomer, Umm Kulthum, would also be noteworthy.
Prediction : 1st Digital 2nd Blind Beggar 3rd Umm Kulthum

MANSHOOD served notice his turn was fast approaching when beaten by less than a length at Newcastle last time and is expected to remain competitive off this 1lb higher mark. Our Little Pony has winning C&D form in the book and could be coming to the boil on her third run back from a break, while Airshow hung badly across the track at Catterick last week but is nicely treated, having won off 4lb higher at Southwell in January.
Prediction : 1st Manshood 2nd Our Little Pony 3rd Airshow

WITH THANKS is interesting on her first start since landing a Newmarket novice race on debut in November and is expected to to take all of the beating, despite her penalty. Benefit Street has been knocking hard on the door and has place claims along with Michael Dods' Hostelry, though the main danger to the selection may be from within his own yard, with newcomer Avebury expected to give a good account of herself for Cheveley Park Stud.
Prediction : 1st With Thanks 2nd Avebury 3rd Hostelry

SHARED BELIEF bounced back to form when beaten just a length in a competitive three-year-old handicap at Sandown last time. The winner of that race was fifth in the International Stakes at Ascot on Saturday, which suggests that Archie Watson's gelding should take plenty of beating off the same mark this evening. Admirality hit the crossbar in a 19-runner handicap at York 10 days ago and he can race off a 3lb lower mark today. The shortlist is completed by Queen's Sargent, Byron's Choice and So Beloved.
Prediction : 1st Shared Belief 2nd Admirality 3rd So Beloved

18:30 Thirsk

The unbeaten TOP RANK remains very lightly raced for a four-year-old and he was last seen winning a handicap over a mile at Newmarket in September 2019. James Tate's colt had plenty in hand on that occasion and he merits the utmost respect today, despite an 8lb rise in the ratings. Silver Dust has been in very good form in recent months and he should not be discounted, while Redarna and Garden Oasis are the pick of the remainder.
Prediction : 1st Top Rank 2nd Silver Dust 3rd Redarna

19:00 Thirsk

The consistent Glen Force sets the standard with an official rating of 84 but he has been a beaten favourite on his last four starts. With that in mind, the vote goes to WONDROUS WORDS, who displayed plenty of promise when finishing third on her debut at Haydock earlier in the month. With that experience now under her belt, she should take plenty of beating this evening. Bonneval is out of a half-sister to the Group 2 winner Silk Sari and any market support for him would have to be noted.
Prediction : 1st Wondrous Words 2nd Glen Force 3rd Bonneval

19:30 Thirsk

Connections of POLAR APPEAL will have been delighted with his introductory effort at Newmarket because he cut out much of the running and stuck to his guns well when headed to cross the line in fourth. That could turn out to be quite a decent novice contest and natural improvement may be enough to see William Haggas' colt home in front here. Daniel Deronda has had wind surgery since the second of two fifth-placed efforts, while A'shamardi might find this more to his liking than the Newmarket affair he started off in.
Prediction : 1st Polar Appeal 2nd Daniel Deronda 3rd Ashamardi

20:00 Thirsk

International Lion was a position and a length and a half in front of Celestial Wood when runner-up at Ayr but they may have to settle for supporting roles again, this time behind MOONLIGHTING. The Kevin Ryan-trained filly broke her duck on her return to action over 7f here, and then performed at least as well when touched off over this distance at Musselburgh. She is up a further 2lb, but seems to be progressing nicely. Forus also has to enter the equation.
Prediction : 1st Moonlighting 2nd International Lion 3rd Celestial Wood

20:30 Thirsk

MAKE HASTE SLOWLY was no great shakes in bumpers when he first started racing, but has been a different proposition altogether since entering the Flat ranks and built on some encouraging displays in maiden/novice company when making a successful start to his handicap career at Kempton. He has been hit with a 5lb rise, but there should be plenty more in the locker. King's Charisma supplemented a Redcar triumph at Haydock and is the logical threat, although Matewan and the returning Trouble Shooter aren't out of it.
Prediction : 1st Make Haste Slowly 2nd Kings Charisma 3rd Matewan
