Stablemates Hochfeld and Themaxwecan are both capable operators who can't be ignored, but a chance is taken on PLATITUDE, who is a dual track-and-trip winner and can take advantage of an attractive rating following an encouraging second at Sandown.

ENBIHAAR beat Manuela De Vega by five lengths in this contest 12 months ago and is much better off with her this year now her rival no longer benefits from a three-year-old allowance and is penalised for her recent Group 2 victory at Haydock. Snow, who drops down from Group 1 level after contesting the Irish Oaks, and Cabaletta, a recent Listed winner over 1m4f at Newbury, are in receipt of weight, though the selection is still expected to have their measure and can successfully defend her crown.

Three-year-olds have a strong Stewards' Cup record, having won three of the last five renewals, and MERAAS bids to continue the trend. Mark Johnston's colt bounced back from a disappointing Newmarket effort when landing the Scottish equivalent of this event at Hamilton and a 6lb rise might not be enough to stop him from progressing further. Nahaarr won in good style at Newbury, getting the better of Watan, and the pair are expected to be in the shake-up once again. David O'Meara's pair Summerghand and Gulliver are just two others to note despite being at the top of the weights.

Alfred Boucher likes to dominate and is another who will enjoy this lively surface, while Streak Lightning's unbeaten run was ended at Haydock recently but he had excuses there.
