Blowing Wind, Conspiracy and Out The Hat are fancied to build on their debut performances and could take closer order, with newcomers Hafeet Star and Otto Oyl entitled to put the experience gained to good use later in the year.

In receipt of 2lb from that rival on his nursery bow, he may be able to turn the tables. The Mousen Champ and Hagar need to step up on their previous efforts to score.

JORDAN ELECTRICS made all to score at Ayr and is expected to remain competitive now turned out off this 4lb higher mark, with a high draw likely to assist if he bids to repeat forcing tactics. Medicine Jack rattled the crossbar at York last weekend and appears to be coming to the boil for Roger Fell. He is well treated on his Irish form and has dropped to a dangerous mark. Recent winners Edgewood and Three Coins could also make their presence felt.

CUBAN AFFAIR has shaped nicely in her two outings this campaign and is given another chance at 5f, with the form of her recent Ayr third looking useful. Alwaatn Sound has undergone wind surgery and been gelded since finishing sixth on his reappearance at Ripon and is respected, while David O'Meara's newcomer Al Mansoura is worthy of a market check. Lucinda Russell's runners are known more for their exploits over obstacles, but Ballyare has some fair sprinting form in the book and his experience is an asset.

TARBOOSH won this in 2018 and is the pick of Paul Midgley's pair following a fine effort in the City Walls Stakes at York. He was beaten less than a length when fourth in that Listed contest and a little cut in the ground could suit. El Astronaute flopped on the Knavesmire, but accounted for the selection when they finished first and second at Doncaster in June. He is a solid yardstick and has to be respected, while Lahore can't be ignored following his second win of the season in a competitive York handicap.

FLOOD DEFENCE has been in fine form since the restart and made it back-to-back Musselburgh victories when last seen. Iain Jardine's mare should prove hard to beat once again following a 5lb rise and her latest efforts have been her best for some time. Viceregent was second when upped to 10 furlongs at Haydock and the extra yardage here could suit along with a little cut in the ground. Justified was successful here on his penultimate start and ran better than the result would suggest at Ripon subsequently. George Mallory and Fox Kasper are others to note.

HAVANA GO was given a canny ride by Paul Mulrennan to strike over C&D, shaping like a horse with more to offer. It took him 15 attempts to open his account, but the floodgates might have opened now and a 3lb rise doesn't seem at all harsh. Flying Moon found plenty when asked to put the race to bed here over further last time and might have more to offer. Ayr Poet has found only one too strong the last twice and should find a race soon.

SCOTS SONNET was far from disgraced when fifth in a much better race here last time out and makes plenty of appeal. The handicapper has given the six-year-old a chance by dropping him 5lb, and it wouldn't be a surprise if Jim Goldie's charge took advantage. Swinging Eddie put in another decent effort when third at Ayr but remains a maiden on turf after numerous attempts, while recent Musselburgh hero Temper Trap only just got up there in the dying strides and won't mind this additional distance.

SMEATON made all to strike here last month and could take some catching again despite a 5lb rise. The Roger Fell-trained four-year-old bossed the tempo and showed a fine attitude, battling well to win by a neck, and can claim a hat-trick at this course if handling the likely quicker ground. Antico Lady enjoyed the drop back to this trip when scoring over C&D a few weeks ago and might challenge the selection for the lead. General Joe is worth a betting check on his handicap/stable debut for David Barron.
