HILL OF TRUTH was no match for the runaway winner Mystery Stowaway at Limerick but she might improve for the outing which was her first of the year. The daughter of Robin Des Champs had some good bumper form, including when second to the smart Bigbadandbeautiful at Clonmel, and can score here on her third start over flights. Coosan Clover was a fair third at Downpatrick and should be in the money again, while Little Lady Lu has been placed on two recent visits to this track and should be thereabouts again, but might struggle to win. Will You Win's last two runs have seen her improve a little bit, while Golden Apples and Imperial Allure represent powerful yards but need to step up appreciably to get involved.

In relation to the others in this field with handicap marks, SAMBA DANCER stands out with a rating of 105. His sixth to subsequent County Hurdle winner Saint Roi at Tramore in January was perfectly respectable, and he wasn't beaten at all far in fourth (Ballycloven Beat behind him in eighth) on his comeback run at Roscommon. This looks a good opportunity for Eoin Doyle's gelding. Railway Hurricane won a point-to-point in November and ran well in two strong bumpers around the turn of the year. He has the ability to get involved on his hurdling debut. It Takes Time had some reasonable form in bumpers as well and should improve from her first start over hurdles when fifth over a longer trip at Ballinrobe.

YEAT'S ENCORE is a well-bred mare who showed up well on her handicap bow when second to Our Nancy at Ballinrobe and can go one place better off a 2lbs higher mark. She can confirm form with the consistent Marino Marvel who was third that day (likely to improve for what was his first race since March 2019) and the fourth home Zinat. Dual Flat winner Caridadi is another entitled to be all the better for a run under his belt, as his second on the same card at Ballinrobe was his first appearance for over two years. Ashton Court was well-backed when an early casualty last time and is worth considering on his previous fourth to Bective Cave at this track, while Colm Murphy's Gondor showed a bit more at Limerick and might improve now that he goes handicapping.

JACK HACKETT hasn't really been progressing as he gains experience over hurdles, but with a good 7lbs claimer retaining the ride, he still gets the vote to score for local connections. A bumper winner at Cork last year, he wasn't beaten far in two recent outings over hurdles and the drop back to 2m might be no harm to him. Course bumper winner Santana Plessis was beaten by a classy sort off the Flat here over half a mile further, but might be vulnerable dropping back to 2m, while Whatsyourstatus ran a cracker at last year's Galway Festival but hasn't been seen since. Dedannan also has a long absence to overcome after being placed in his last two starts in maiden hurdles in 2019.

This day last year One Cool Poet was completing a hat-trick of Flat handicap wins at the Galway Festival, and his trainer Matthew Smith has strong claims in this with EIMEAR. The Court Cave mare seems to have improved since switching stables, and was an easy winner over fences at this course last time. Her last hurdles run saw her finish runner-up to subsequent winner Lord Lariat at Tipperary, with the horse in third winning twice since, so her form is strong and she looks to be well-handicapped. Topweight Ocean Glandore likes it at Kilbeggan and beat the selection here last year, but she may have improved enough to reverse placings with him, while So Enjoy is still searching for a first win but her second at Bellewstown was creditable. So Near So Farhh caught the eye at Downpatrick and this strong stayer will enjoy the trip with first-time headgear applied as well.

Course hurdles winner JOSEPHINA has been placed on both chase starts and her third to Jerandme at this course three weeks ago was a fine effort having been off since last October. She can continue to progress over the larger obstacles. Pass Hymn was left second behind Davids Charm at Tipperary, but it was still a very good run and this bumper and hurdles winner looks a danger. Several of these ran in the race won by Turbo here a fortnight ago and Rueben James (fourth) may prove the best of them on this occasion, having been off since 2018 when he was placed a couple of times over fences. Father Jed is race-fit and has plenty of handicap chase experience but may find a few too good.

HUMPS AND BUMPS ran creditably when fifth to easy winner Eimear (runs in the 4.35) here on her handicap chase debut and can improve for the experience. The point-to-point winner won at Ballinrobe, and was placed a couple of times at this track, over hurdles last year and can give a good account of herself. Call Of The Loon easily defeated the selection in a hurdle race here last year and is respected on that form, while Maureen's Star won off a light weight here in June and is down at the foot of the handicap again. My First Symphony's rider was hampered by a slipped saddle when the mare was fourth last time, and that effort can be marked up as a result. Neither Mary Fields nor Myrons were far behind her that day at Tramore, though, and the latter, a hunter chase winner at the seaside track last year, could have more to offer.
