POLITICS ran on to grab second on his debut at Pontefract and Andrew Balding's colt is entitled to have learnt plenty from that experience. The hood that he wore on that occasion has been taken off, with this sharper test more likely to help him settle in the early stages. Pure Dreamer displayed plenty of speed on debut when sixth at Newbury and the drop back from 6f will be in his favour, while First Edition warrants plenty of respect on his debut for Clive Cox.
Prediction : 1st Politics 2nd Pure Dreamer 3rd First Edition

BRIGHT ARMOR made it third-time lucky with a facile success at Bath last month and an opening mark of 77 may prove workable for Clive Cox's colt on his nursery debut. Holwah stepped forward from her debut when third over C&D and she is open to further improvement, along with Rania, who ran with credit under a penalty at Windsor, and Perotto, who finished second at Goodwood last week.
Prediction : 1st Bright Armor 2nd Holwah 3rd Rania

PINK SANDS shaped as though she would benefit from the outing when third at Yarmouth last month and represents a jockey/trainer combination that can do little wrong at present. Garsman has been a consistent performer over the past couple of months and another bold bid is expected, while Pop Dancer and Agent Shiftwell, both of them recent C&D winners, appeal most of the remainder.
Prediction : 1st Pink Sands 2nd Garsman 3rd Pop Dancer

Recovery Run sets the standard having filled second place in both of his previous starts and he was only denied by a neck on his most recent outing at Chelmsford. That said, the level he sets is not very high and a chance can be taken with SYMBOLIC POWER. Charlie Appleby's juveniles have tended to need their first run this year but this son of Kingman has every chance of making a winning debut. He cost connections 2,300,000gns as a yearling and his half-sister Game And Set showed a good level of ability as a two-year-old last year. His dam was successful over 1m2f, while she is a full-sister to Fame And Glory and to the dam of Legatissimo. Love Is Golden is a half-brother to seven black-type performers, most notably the dual Group 1 winner and Arc second Sea Of Class, while Lone Eagle is another interesting newcomer.
Prediction : 1st Symbolic Power 2nd Recovery Run 3rd Love Is Golden

MON CHOIX bolted up by seven and a half lengths at Windsor on Monday and the son of Pivotal is very hard to oppose this afternoon, despite having to carry a 6lb penalty for that victory. Kingston Kurrajong bounced back to form when only denied by a short head at Newbury last time and should go well again, while Crimewave and Production complete the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Mon Choix 2nd Kingston Kurrajong 3rd Crimewave

A very competitive handicap despite the small field, although preference is for ENEMY, who was only beaten a short head in a similar contest over C&D last time and he should remain competitive off a 2lb higher mark. Star Of Wins has improved with every start in novice/maiden company and his recent win at Windsor suggests that an opening mark of 82 may underestimate his ability. Native Tribe failed to fire when favourite on his seasonal return in June, but he has been gelded sine then and his juvenile form is very encouraging.
Prediction : 1st Enemy 2nd Star Of Wins 3rd Native Tribe

REVOLVER has been a revelation since joining the handicap ranks this summer and extended his winning run to four at Haydock last time. He was always doing enough to hold some useful rivals on that occasion, including Dancing Harry who was back in fifth, and could go in again despite a further 7lb rise. Punctuation, not disgraced when seen in a Group 2 at Royal Ascot, made the podium on his handicap bow behind some smart operators and makes lots of appeal here. Oleksander and Margaret Dumont complete the line-up.
Prediction : 1st Revolver 2nd Punctuation 3rd Oleksander

GYPSY WHISPER built on a fine effort when fourth in a Newbury handicap to land a taking course-and-distance success last time. She thrived in first-time cheekpieces (worn today) there and is right at the top of the shortlist, with William Buick aboard once more. Fantail caught the eye when a beaten favourite behind Indie Angel and Odyssey Girl at Newmarket and makes some appeal off the same rating, while consistent pair Kwela and Portugueseprincess can't be ignored either. Nehaall also makes the shortlist having rattled the crossbar at Kempton and is just 1lb higher now.
Prediction : 1st Gypsy Whisper 2nd Fantail 3rd Nehaall
