BETTER BY FAR went close to getting off the mark on her nursery debut at Lingfield earlier in the month and Mark Johnston's filly is capable of going one better running off the same rating. Two Cop Bop ran on to grab third on his second outing over C&D and is likely to be competitive along with Harswell Prince, who sports cheekpieces after a disappointing effort at Redcar last time.
Prediction : 1st Better By Far 2nd Two Cop Bop 3rd Harswell Prince

LADY CELIA made it three wins out of her last four starts when scoring at Newcastle at the start of the month and the return to Hamilton, where her other two successes have come, may see her defy the 6lb penalty. Lyons Lane is another filly in excellent form as she attempts to land the hat-trick following victories at Thirsk and Ayr, while Astrophysics has to be respected having gone extremely close on his last couple of C&D appearances.
Prediction : 1st Lady Celia 2nd Lyons Lane 3rd Astrophysics

CREDIBLE made a pleasing debut when runner-up at York but was unable to follow up on that when failing to land the odds at Doncaster on her second outing. However, she is likely to benefit from stepping up in trip and can put her experience to good use. Kats Bob was no match for an easy winner at Ayr last month but he can enter calculations along with newcomers Fairmac and Pockley.
Prediction : 1st Credible 2nd Kats Bob 3rd Fairmac

ALIX JAMES justified favouritism at Musselburgh last month under a prominent ride and has enough pace to cope with this drop to 6f. Iain Jardine has his string in fine form at the time of writing, and the three-year-old is fancied to account for recent C&D scorer Zig Zag Zyggy, who might have a bit more to offer on just his second start for Adrian Nicholls. The admirably consistent Queen Of Kalahari is another to note.
Prediction : 1st Alix James 2nd Zig Zag Zyggy 3rd Queen Of Kalahari

GULF OF POETS often does well after a break and has become well handicapped now on the pick of his old form. The eight-year-old is 9lb below his last winning mark and should appreciate this drop back into 0-85 company from a fair draw. Poet's Dawn was third at Beverley in a blanket finish earlier this month and warrants respect on that running, while Granite City Doc has won two of his last three and deserves to take his chance stepped up in grade.
Prediction : 1st Gulf Of Poets 2nd Poets Dawn 3rd Granite City Doc

Throne Hall displayed potential when third on debut at Haydock 12 months ago and the half-brother to Appeared should appreciate this step up in distance. The absence is a slight worry though, and perhaps a more solid option might be to side with Tim Easterby's WAR DEFENDER. The three-year-old is obviously more exposed, but he has shaped well in defeat at Newcastle and Redcar the last twice, and would be tough to stop if running to his rating of 78. William Haggas' Reemannie may prove best of the remainder.
Prediction : 1st War Defender 2nd Throne Hall 3rd Reemannie

TIGERTEN was a runaway winner over this trip at Catterick recently and 6lb well in under a 6lb penalty, he is fancied to complete the double. Convivial got within half a length of victory over 1m3f here last time and she is likely to be in the shake-up again, while Flying Moon, Tattenhams and Frame Rate also have solid place credentials taking on a red-hot favourite.
Prediction : 1st Tigerten 2nd Convivial 3rd Flying Moon

MILLIE THE MINX has been found another good opening to strike after her ready course success over 1m1f at the beginning of the month. She seems to save her best performances for this track and the step up in distance isn't a concern. Frankster performed with credit when third behind the selection 12 days ago and should go well again, while Ritchie Star can also get involved.
Prediction : 1st Millie The Minx 2nd Frankster 3rd Ritchie Star

ROYAL COUNTESS arrives in good nick after win and placed efforts at Ayr. She has clearly improved this year and going back into handicap company will suit over this trip, especially if there is still ease in the ground. Remmy D would be no surprise winner on the back of his agonising reverse here 12 days ago, while Abie's Hollow and Shark are others to take seriously.
Prediction : 1st Royal Countess 2nd Remmy D 3rd Abies Hollow
