UK Horse Racing Tips: Tramore

Albuquerque is interesting on debut for John Halley. We haven't seen the ex-Ballydoyle inmate for 529 days but the Halleys like a winner at Tramore and Rachael Blackmore has been booked. Equipped with a tongue-strap now for hurdles debut, the Galileo gelding needs to be monitored in the market. Santana Plessis has his chance again, for all that he's expensive to follow and it could be that the mare, DYSART DIAMOND, will prove up to making a winning start over flights. A consistent sort in bumpers the Shirocco chestnut got her reward at Limerick last month. There's no reason to think that the five-year-old won't make a hurdler and she's preferred to the likes of habitual slow starter on the Flat, Dare To Flare, and those mentioned previously.

Trees Valley made the line-up from the reserves bench for a 2m4f mares' maiden hurdle here on Friday night so it's a case of watching this space with regard to the chance of the well-bred Liam Burke runner. For a selection, a chance is taken on DESSIE DESCHAMPS on his debut for Gordon Elliott. He won a point-to-point in his time with Colin McBratney and off 86 he's got to be there or thereabouts. There are many in here with chances and the four handicap first-timers, in particular, need to be watched in the market.

The Kiely brothers, David and John, have prospects here with Champions Hill and MASTER ARTIST respectively. John's Master Artist showed up quite well behind an easy Willie Mullins winner in Hybery, at Wexford last time. One would have thought that going up in trip now would only be in Master Artist's favour, and he hails of course from a stable in form. With his 109 rating Mr Lombardi must be respected. He needs to brush up on his jumping though. Ya Boy Ya was a beaten favourite at Downpatrick but he's entitled to be very much to the fore in the market again. The Wexford horse is probably vulnerable to an improver.

Sean O'Keeffe is flying and he could win for the third time aboard JOSEPHINA. The Royal Anthem mare understandably went short in the in-running betting at Kilbeggan last time, and perhaps coming back to two miles here will do her no harm. She won a mares' handicap hurdle at this festival last year and goes in her first handicap chase off a mark comparable to her hurdle's one. It's Tramore so you can't be too readily leaving Bellgrove out of calculations, whilst half that's fellow's age, Shantou Warrior could come in to it, beginning in handicap chase company. Alice Johnston disappointed at Wexford. She'd have a chance on her best form though.

Abbi Shore ran here over hurdles on Friday evening and Rachael Blackmore is on this one of the Henry de Bromhead pair, but it looks as though BORO TARI could be J J Slevin's ride. The Hill runner will get there with experience over the larger obstacles. This might prove to be third time lucky for her over fences now. Moll Dote begins at this discipline. On the plus side she's a previous Tramore victor and she should be there or thereabouts if she jumps. Rapid Response has no Western Victory to deal with here and she's obviously a huge player. Something Sweet has experience on her side and she needs to be respected.

RIVIERA SUN was waited with in Tipperary before staying on well to get to within a short head of the winner, his stablemate Mind's Eye. Hugh Morgan was on board that winner and now partners Riviera Sun, and is good value for his 7lb claim. That was a better class of race in Tipperary, and Riviera Sun has to be tempting with Morgan's claim now factored in. Cusp Of Carabelli ran well for third in the Galway Blazers on soft ground. He has plenty of form on better ground and three of his four career victories have come at this racecourse. He looks dangerous. Woodbrook Boy is in a rich vein of form that began with a victory (over Crimson Chief) over a similar trip at this venue towards the end of July. He then built upon that to score by six lengths at Wexford earlier in the month. Trip and ground will be fine and he is a good jumper, but this is a hotter race and he is up 10lbs in the weights. Crimson Chief is certainly weighted to turn around that length and three quarter beating here last month, when a never nearer second. He runs off a very light weight and has to be respected.

John Kiely had a double on the first day of the festival on Thursday, and ERINS BENEFIT could be another for him. This Beneficial mare stayed on well for third in Limerick last month and was well clear of the fourth home. Granted normal improvement, she should get well involved. Shantou mare Greenane Lady is an obvious threat on debut for Willie and Patrick Mullins. Glan went off favourite on debut for a fillies' bumper at Fairyhouse in December, but dropped out of contention in the final quarter of a mile. There should be much more to come from her. Conquering Tara has three placed efforts in the book but she was beaten a fair way in the last two, so may be vulnerable. Riqaaby put in plenty of good work at Gowran Park before finishing third. The Galway Gal is one to keep an eye on in the market on her first racecourse start.
