The Hugo Palmer trained Margaret Dumont (best priced at 3/1) has form figures of 32122 on the AW and should now prove hard to beat following three respectable runs on turf. The four-year-old finished 2nd on her only start at Newcastle in the Northumberland Vase Handicap in June when beaten only 2 ½ lengths off a mark of 86 before running with credit at Newbury, Goodwood and Nottingham back on turf.
Connections have booked the in-form Tom Marquand for the ride today who recorded a hat-trick of wins yesterday at York. Margaret Dumont is only 1lb higher than her previous good run over this course and distance and should prove hard to beat.

The Roger Varian trained Mushirif (best priced at 6/5) has finished 2nd on both of his starts in handicaps since going up in trip. The son of Belardo returned from an 80 day break to finish 2nd at Wolverhampton off a mark of 75 when only beaten a head by Maketh Believeth before finishing 2nd at Newbury off 1lb higher.
Mushirif still looked inexperienced on only his fifth start when 2nd last time despite being keen early on in the race and running on well at the finish. The three-year-old runs here off the same mark of 76 and should be able to get off the mark at the sixth attempt.

The Jim Goldie trained Tanasoq (best priced at 7/2) won over this course and distance in June off a mark of 62 and should now prove hard to beat returning to this course off only a 3lb higher mark. The eight-year-old has been struggling on his previous three starts but those have been over 6f twice and 7f and he will definitely appreciate this return to 5f.
Paul Mulrennan rode Tanasoq to victory over this course and distance in June and now gets back on board so I expect him to prove hard to beat with cheekpieces back on for the first time in five runs.
