Horses that are involved with the connections of CAESAR'S COMET (best priced at 12-1) are often hard to predict but I feel it is worth taking a risk on the seven-year-old given his good recent record over this course and distance. The son of Acclamation has recent form figures at Dundalk of 23454 with his best two performances coming over this trip of 7f which is the same distance that he won over in January off a mark of 62 and finished 2nd in October off a mark of 61.

Caesar’s Comet runs here off a mark of 60 so he is clearly well handicapped and has a great draw from Stall 1. Shane Foley, who was the last jockey to win on him in July, takes back over on board and he should run well with up to five places on offer.

The Joseph O’Brien trained SANGRIA (best priced at 3-1) was an easy winner on her handicap debut over this course and distance 21 days ago before being disqualified because Mikey Sheehy claimed 2lb more than he should have done. The handicapper has harshly raised the two-year-old 7lb for that effort so he in theory is running off a 9lb higher mark than his victory last time.

Sangria always looked in control that day and eased clear to win by 1 ¾ lengths but the winning distance could have been a lot more. That was the first time the daughter of Gutaifan had dropped back to 6f since her debut and she looks the type to keep on side in nurseries for the rest of this year.

The fact that connections of LADY ROCKSTAR (best priced at 9-1) are willing to risk a handicap mark of 85 for some valuable black type in this race says a lot and I expect her to outrun her odds in this race. She is very consistent with form figures of 23221 this year and she put in a career best performance to get off the mark last time at Wolverhampton in a first-time tongue tie which is retained today.

Lady Rockstar won easily by 12 lengths back on the AW last time and even the form of her 2nd place at Thirsk has been boosted by the runner-up since. The William Haggas stable remain in good form and despite having over a stone to find on ratings, Lady Rockstar receives allowances from the rest of the field and she can hit the frame with up to four places available.
