12:50 Kempton
The favourite Channel Packet has always shown his best form at Chelmsford so it is interesting that he finally makes an appearance at Kempton on his 39th start but preference instead goes to previous course and distance winner SHYJACK (best priced at 7-1). The Christine Dunnett trained six-year-old ran well on his first two starts the track before disappointing in a 0-65 handicap here on his penultimate start when slowly away and never involved in the race.
Shyjack outran odds of 25/1 to finish 4th at Chelmsford last time off this mark where the in-running comments stated that the gelding suffered ‘not clear run over 2f out’ and ‘not clear run inside final furlong’ over this 1 mile trip. The handicapper has left him on a mark of 55 which is fair and he should run well with the talented Stefano Cherci taking off 3lb with up to five places on offer back down in grade.
13:55 Kempton
Some top trainers are represented in this novice race but preference goes to the Marco Botti trained FIFTEENTHAMENDMENT (best priced at 7-2) who sets the standard on his debut 3rd 26 days ago. The son of Noble Mission is a half brother to 2 year old AW winner King Cole and he outran his odds of 22/1 to finish 3rd over this course and distance on his debut.
Fifteenthamendment showed his inexperience when racing in the rear of the field but showed a good attitude when switched wide to make his challenge late on where he stayed on well to force a dead-heat 3rd. He achieved a higher RPR than the favourite Just A Tad on both of their debut efforts and I expect Fifteenthamendment to get off the mark on his second attempt.
14:25 Kempton
The John Butler trained UZINCSO (best priced at 11-2) has form figures of 1111411 in course and distance handicaps and should run well back in his optimum conditions. His latest victory came in March off a mark of 85 under Luke Morris and the handicapper only raised him 3lb for that victory.
Uzincso has ran below par on the turf since in his three races but now returns back to the AW and his favoured course and distance still looking well handicapped. He goes up in class from a 0-85 handicap into a 0-95 handicap but I expect him to cope with that rise in class and prove hard to beat.
