This looks between the top 2 in the betting and I think CHURCHSTONEWARRIOR (best price 9/4) can confirm that recent form with Idas Boy. He has taken really well to hurdles and was backing up that 6-length romp at Sligo with a gutsy success at Thurles last time. He even made a bit of a mistake at the last but showed a good attitude to prevail and I think he did it with a bit to spare. The front pair pulled 11 lengths clear so the form looks rock solid. Idas Boy is 3lb better off but I don’t see that enough for him to reverse the form albeit he is still the main danger. Chinx Of Light made the breakthrough at Galway but this is tougher so he’ll need to improve again to trouble the front pair. Perfect Attitude won at Clonmel and then failed to peg back a horse that made all at Galway. He is at least consistent so might not be that far away.

It was good to see PIPESMOKER (best price 3/1) win so well at Lingfield last month as he has always shown ability but hasn’t always channelled it in the right direction. He is certainly in capable hands now with Kim Bailey and now he has his head in front it wouldn’t surprise me if he kicked on. He is a strong stayer over this trip and under likely positive tactics again I think he’ll take plenty of catching. Zacony Rebel also won well last time beating Haddex Des Obeaux at Fontwell. That is quite good form so he should make a race of it. Sorbet is a likeable mare who won at Fakenham last time but everything went her way on that occasion and the front two in here definitely look useful so she is going to need to raise her game to follow up. Destrier has enough to prove back from a break as usually comes on for his first run of the season.
