Given horses from this yard usually go off well backed when they’re expected to win it was quite surprising DORISA QUEEN (best price 9/4) was allowed to go off as big as 3/1 but she certainly made no mistake at Stratford winning by a commanding advantage. This doesn’t look any tougher so she is well placed to go and follow up and make it 2 from 2 since joining this yard. That was her handicap debut last time so even up 6lb I think she is a fair bit ahead of the assessor. She will take a nice toe into it and with usual luck in-running should be finishing best of all under Harry Skelton. Doyen Queen doesn’t seem to put it all in for me and looks opposable. Fashion Nova has shown glimpses of good form and she could step forward on her second run following a wind op. At a bigger price Flintara might bounce back and hit the frame so one to watch as well.

I’ll be keeping an eye on the market here as I wouldn’t want to see too much support for Gosden’s newcomer Nazca but I think experience can win the day so YANTARNI (best price 13/8) gets the vote. This Dubawi colt was a big eye-catcher when second on debut having been slowly away and while he was beaten at cramped odds at Wolverhampton last time plenty went wrong. He reared as the gates opened and lost ground at the start. I think that effected how he ran the rest of the race challenging too soon and he was eventually headed close home. This drop back in trip can help and with a cleaner break he will take a fair bit of beating under James Doyle. Wineglass Bay looks the danger if the debutant isn’t up to much or needs the run. He is by New Bay and was a good second at Kempton and that represented a step forward so with more to come he should make a race of it.
