GYTO's Tuesday notebook double pays 13/2.
13:30 Wincanton
This is another case of us having two trackers in the same race but I’m confident BRIEF TIMES (best price 13/8) is the one to side with. Earth Company is the other one in here and he did look impressive strolling clear to win at Taunton but the selection is unbeaten over hurdles making it 2-2 at Doncaster in good style. With more to come he gets the vote to bring up the four-timer. He made all the last day and always looked to be coming home in front. This asks more pitched into handicap company now but I’ll be surprised if he isn’t better than an opening mark of 126. It’s not just between the front pair as Oakley also has potential but he will definitely need to better that Cheltenham run where he went out like a light. He has been given time since and is off a reduced mark so that’s why he is figuring fairly prominently in the betting.
19:30 Newcastle
Another race where I think the market principals will battle it out and KILCONQUHAR (best price 15/8) has to get the vote. I know he isn’t always the most straightforward but he won really well by 4 lengths over C&D last month and he really hit the line strongly. He has a 6lb rise to cope with but let’s be honest he would have won with that on his back the last day so it’s more a case of him turning up in the same form here and that should be enough to see him home in front again. Last time out winner Fircombe Hall is the obvious threat as he brushed aside 13 rivals over C&D a fortnight ago and up just 2lb he should still be competitive. He was all out to hold on but a repeat of that would definitely see him bang there. Mayelf was back to form when third over C&D last time and if he builds on that he should be comfortably best of the rest.
