Follow Your Heart would have had a massive chance here having impressed over C&D last week but with him now out I’m going to chance the unexposed DIAVOLO on first start for Charlie Fellowes. This son of Dubawi showed enough in 3 starts for Roger Varian to suggest to me he is capable of getting seriously competitive on handicap debut off a mark of just 79. That run at Nottingham in the summer was particularly eye-catching and with the form having worked out he brings enough potential to the table here to be a danger to all. He drops back in trip down to 7f so will need to be sharp enough on his return but with the market already speaking favourably they are likely to have him primed for this. Mudlahhim sets the standard having won over C&D on debut for this yard and should come on for his reappearance run so looks the most obvious danger.

With Fairlawn Flyer now out this looks a great chance for JONY MAX to follow up for Christian Williams. This horse didn’t achieve much over hurdles but shaped with plenty of promise on first two starts over fences before opening his account at Wincanton last time. He was well backed on that occasion and didn’t let supporters down going away again at the finish. He showed a good attitude under pressure and I think he would have got the better of the argument with Mr Magill who took a fall at the last. He is up 6lb but definitely has more to come in this sphere and it’s no surprise to see him trading as favourite at the time of writing. The danger is the thriving Uno Mas who has won 4 of his last 5 starts over hurdles but his record over fences is nowhere near as compelling so he’ll need to prove he can back up those efforts back chasing. Fact Of The Matter is also considered with his yard firing.
