2022 Cheltenham Gold Cup

A highly competitive Savills Chase was won by Galvin who hit the front just in time to beat A Plus Tard on the line.

Bookmakers have responded by dramatically cutting odds for Galvin to win the 2022 Gold Cup, he can be found at a best price of 8/1 despite being as short as 11/2 elsewhere.

The seven year-old, trained by Gordon Elliot was a 7/1 shot ahead of the Savills Chase but defied the odds to beat a high class field.

A Plus Tard ran a good race but didn’t have enough in the tank to hold off Galvin in the end. Odds for A Plus Tard to retain the Gold Cup in March have drifted to a best price to 4/1 but remain as short as 9/4 elsewhere.

The 2022 Gold Cup ante-post market has been given a significant shake up with more serious competitors emerging.
