Ballymore Novices' Hurdle Ante-Post

Journey With Me has been cut to favourite for the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle by several bookies, now as short as 5/1, following his impressive win on hurdling debut at Leopardstown.

The five-year-old, trained by Henry De Bromhead, was up against an odds-on favourite in the form of Kilcruit in the Maiden Hurdle. However, it was Journey With Me who stole the show with the Willie Mullins runner back in third having run out of steam in the latter stages.

Rachael Blackmore took the ride over obstacles for the first time on what was an exciting hurdling debut for a horse that won his sole point start and followed up with a 13-length victory in a bumper at Gowran Park back in March.

Journey With Me was priced at 14/1 for the Ballymore prior to the Maiden Hurdle at Leopardstown, but has since been cut to as short as 5/1. The best price currently on offer is 8/1 with two firms.

He's also shortened from 12/1 to a best price of 9/1 for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at the 2022 Cheltenham Festival.

Sir Gerhard remains favourite with several bookies at a best price of 7/1, but as short as 4/1 in places. Dysart Dynamo is also short in the market at a best price of 9/1.
