A 5lb rise looks perfectly fair and with further improvement to come especially over this trip he gets a confident vote to follow up under 3lb claimer William Carver. There should be plenty of pace on here with the likes of Sir Oliver, Kondratiev Wave and Enduring likely to push forward so he should get a longer toe in before striking the front. The danger is the hat-trick seeking Shoot To Kill who only ever seems to do just enough. I did think he was all out at Wolverhampton though and he is up another 3lb so he will need more especially to contain the selection.

It was hard not to be impressed with the way NO WORD OF A LIE (best price 2/1) quickened away from rivals at Sedgefield last time. That was comfortably his best run to date and now handicapping off an opening mark of 123 I think he can really kick on. The second Mister Whitaker had won at Kelso beforehand so was going into that in good form and the third Bridge North has since run well bumping into a progressive horse in Green Boo at Ludlow so the form is very solid. Dorking Boy is an obvious danger but he can race too freely and sometimes doesn’t always put it all in so there are definitely doubts about him. Ballybegg has been pulled up the last twice but reverts to hurdles with the blinkers on so can’t be entirely ruled out either.
