Given how well BRORSON galloped out to win at Catterick last month this step up to 3 miles should prove ideal and if he gets into a nice rhythm again under Sean Bowen he could take plenty of pegging back. He goes handicapping off a mark of 117 and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t prove himself better than that. He doesn’t have to lead and Lecale’s Article can go freely off the front so over this longer trip it might help him to get a toe in. The danger could be Kayf Hernando for Dan Skelton who showed a good attitude to win at Carlisle on hurdles debut but has failed to back that up since. If he bounces back he looks the one to give the selection most to think about. Friary Rock is the interesting one and I wouldn’t want to see too much support for him on stable debut.

Famous Star is unexposed stepping up in trip but I’m not totally convinced by her and I think it looks a good chance for OCEANLINE to get himself back in the winner's enclosure. He has shaped quite well without winning over hurdles and had some strong form on the Flat prior to that. Back on the level and over 2 miles now I think we could see the best of him. He was strong at the finish winning at Sandown in the summer and off just a 3lb higher mark looks to have plenty going for him. Thomas Greatrex gets the leg up and is very capable so that could also be a positive against the less experience 3lb claimer Harry Burns. General Zoff is back following a wind op and also deserves respect given he won fresh when returning last year. The rest look to have enough to find.
