Last time out winners Semser and Light Up Our Stars are vying for favouritism at the time of writing but I think there are grounds to take on both. The former was recording his first win under Rules for this yard winning an apprentice handicap over this trip at Lingfield but he was always well positioned. I think that is very questionable form so I’m surprised he is as short as he is especially given the fact he doesn’t have 7lb claimed off him here. Light Up Our Stars impressed last time but that was over 7f and nothing he has done in the past suggests he stays this trip of a mile and a quarter so I think he’ll be vulnerable late. That leaves PLEDGE OF HONOUR as the bet for trainer Dean Ivory. He is 5lb below his last winning mark now and met trouble at a crucial stage last time not beaten far. He should be the one finishing best.
