Following a 3/1 winner and 8/1 place, Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action.

Form figures of PPP wouldn’t normally inspire any confidence about the chances of PRIDE OF LECALE (best priced at 10-1) in this race but I feel this drop in trip to 2 miles is exactly what he needs. The Fergal O’Brien trained eleven-year-old has raced too keenly on his previous three starts including in December when he led for most of the race until pulling up at the second last having weakened following a combination of fitness and his early exertions in the race.
Pride Of Lecale is now fitted with a hood for the first time in his career and also dropped down from 2m4f to 2 miles. This should ensure he travels more efficiently throughout the race and he is now well handicapped off a mark of 105. His previous win came in November 2019 off a mark of 111 so he runs here off 6lb lower and also drops in grade from a Class 4 0-120 handicap into a Class 5 0-105 handicap off top weight.
13:25 Wolverhampton
The Simon Pearce trained VICTORY ROSE (best priced at 20-1) has won her previous two starts over this course and distance and is now back down to her last winning mark. The six-year-old mare won off marks od 63 and 68 in September 2020 before running with credit back on turf last year in her three runs.
Victory Rose has now dropped back down from a mark of 70 down to 68 but crucially now returns to the AW off her last winning mark. She returns here following a 229 day break but she was only beaten 1 ¼ lengths in 3rd last year off a similar 221 day break so that shouldn’t be a concern and she looks a big price to hit the frame with up to four places available.
18:00 Kempton
The John Long trained MAGICINTHEMAKING (best priced at 18-1) is a two-time course and distance winner here over 7f at Kempton but also has a further five placed efforts at the track in her career. The eight-year-old mare saves her best for this track and has returned this season following a break with a 2nd and 3rd placed finish over this course and distance.
In the first of those Magicinthemaking was only beaten ½ length off a mark of 55 before finishing 3rd off a mark of 57. The handicapper has dropped her 1lb down to 56 for this race which is below her previous two winning marks of 58 and 63 which were both at this track. Bookmakers are offering up to five places on this race and she looks a big price to be involved in the finish.
