Moveit Like Minnie won both starts in bumpers and offered something to work on when runner-up to Pipesmoker on debut over hurdles at Lingfield but he was beaten 24 lengths so will need to improve. I prefer the chances of KNICKERBOCKERGLORY for Dan Skelton. This son of Fame And Glory ran out an impressive winner of a bumper on final start for Alastair Ralph at Ludlow this time last year. He has been beaten twice over hurdles for his new yard but raced too keenly at Wetherby and was never put in the race at Haydock. He needs to settle and jump better but he definitely retains potential and I think this looks a good chance for him to get back on track. Quickbuck showed ability in bumpers as well and looks best of the rest tackling hurdles for the very first time here.

I don’t think this is going to take a great deal of winning so that makes DARK DESIGN a really strong play. He may have left it late at Chelmsford last time but he did get there with a bit to spare in the end and this step back up to 7f should suit based on him doing all his best work late the last day. He won off this mark when he was trained in Ireland and there shouldn’t be too many excuses. Intervention is the closest in the betting but he remains a maiden after 22 runs so that says a lot about the lack of strength in depth in this race. He could improve on second start for Mick Appleby but certainly needs to if he is to hold off the selection late. Broughtons Flare has won here in the past but needs an out and out gallop and there isn’t tons of pace on here. Okaidi is capable of a big run but has never got his head in front.
