Dual point winner OMAR MARETTI won both starts over hurdles and he made a really encouraging start over fences when beaten just a length and a quarter into second at Market Rasen last month. He struck me as a horse that would improve plenty for the run as he dug deep again away from the last and was coming back at the line. The winner Bobhopeornohope is held in high regard by connections and the third Seven No Trumps had won his previous start impressively at Lingfield. The form looks very solid to me and with natural improvement he is going to take a lot of beating here. Uncle Alastair is the veteran in the field but he is lightly raced for his age and just bumped into one in the shape of Papa Tango Charly on return at Carlisle. With more to come he looks the danger. Come On Teddy will find this easier but didn’t convince last time.

This looks a great chance for the in-form BERNARD SPIERPOINT to win again. He finally took advantage of a lowly handicap mark when winning impressively for the grade over C&D last month and backed that up to some extent following up at Wolverhampton last time. That was officially deemed a dead-heat in the end so the prize was shared. He hit the line strong though and it looked a competitive race of the grade. If he runs to that sort of level again he should take a lot of beating as he bids to complete the hat-trick. Papas Girl has also won over this C&D and while she was below form last time she was given a lot to do and I expect her to be sharper here. That form has worked out well so she is definitely respected. Nacho needs to bounce back but showed a good attitude to score on penultimate start and can get competitive in a race like this.
