GYTO's Friday notebook double pays 7/1.
This is a good race but NURSE SUSAN gets a confident vote. She is a perfect 2-2 over hurdles and has been winning despite not looking the finished article. She will need to improve to win this but she looks a mare to keep firmly on side and if she handles the testing ground she should take a lot of beating. Rainyday Woman was turned over at short odds on hurdles debut but has done well since bringing up a hat-trick at Taunton last month. She meets a better calibre of opposition now but is still probably the most likely danger as she will be ridden positively off the front. Game On For Glory looks held by the latter on that last run but could still progress again. Love Envoi is unbeaten winning a bumper in Ireland before going 2 from 2 for this yard at Leicester and Warwick. She also has a bright future so this is definitely a race to watch as it should throw up some nice horses.
I know SUGAR BABY is still a maiden but he has only actually had 8 runs and his form this season has been much improved. He caught the eye finishing a close-up fifth on return over C&D so it was no surprise to see him sharpen up from the run to go down just half a length over the same track and trip back in November. In hindsight he was probably just too keen that day and that may have cost him. The pair pulled a length and a quarter clear from the rest so it was a very good run in defeat. He backed that up again when second to Good Earth last time and he wouldn’t need to find much more improvement to belatedly open his account. The majority of these have something or other to prove so it really does look a great opportunity. Stroxx might be the danger as while he was only sixth last time he was snatched up late and couldn’t recover after.
