GYTO's Monday notebook double pays 8/1.
I’m expecting Al Kazeem filly ALLOWED to take another step forward at Southwell on Monday. She showed bits and pieces of ability before improving to finish third on handicap debut at Wolverhampton last month. She just looked a bit outpaced to me in the closing stages and stuck to the task well in the closing stages. She is bred to improve going up in trip and down a 1lb to just 63 now I’ll be very surprised if she isn’t ahead of her mark. Collaborating missed by just a head at 25/1 at Newcastle last time and could go well if building on that up just 2lb. I’m not convinced by his profile though so that could leave last time out winner Kingson as the main danger. He showed a good attitude to get on top last time and up just 1lb should get competitive again.
Looking forward to seeing Marco Botti’s Awtaad colt ESSENCIAL out again at Wolverhampton on Monday night. He made a winning handicap debut at Lingfield over this trip last time and did well to get on top in the closing stages there. He still doesn’t look the finished article after just the 4 runs and a 3lb rise looks very fair. I think as long as he gets a good target to aim at and it doesn’t turn tactical he should be finishing best. My Dubawi looks the pace in the race and he is also the main danger in the betting. He clocked a career best to win by a short head at Kempton and off a 5lb rise should have more to come. Kennet shouldn’t be entirely ruled out either as he is open to improvement but I do think the pair mentioned above will battle this one out.
