Ballycoose won a bumper and looked a nice prospect making a winning hurdles debut at Ayr last time but I still think he has a bit to find to live with DRUMBEAR here. The latter clocked a much better speed figure when winning by 10 lengths on hurdles debut at Musselburgh last time. He made all the running and galloped on strongly at the finish to win unchallenged. He will likely try and repeat them tactics here and might always be dominating this field. Bar the front pair Clifton Warrior also deserves a mention as he also made a winning start over hurdles before disappointing last time. It’s still early days so he could bounce back here but I have a suspicion the selection has the most potential of these going forward. Hard to recommend anything at bigger prices.
The betting doesn’t have too much between these but MUMMY’S BOY is definitely the one I want to side with for Charlie Hills and Marco Ghiani. This son of Footstepsinthesand beat a subsequent winner over a similar trip to this at Wolverhampton last time and up 4lb is likely still ahead of the handicapper. Hopefully he can settle better here as he was keen last time but still had enough to quicken again at the finish. Nuble has won her last 3 but was hard pressed to do so last time so will find this tougher again. Semser won an apprentice event before backing that up going down just a short head last time. He could get competitive again but on the balance might be opposable. I actually think Glasvegas at a monster price might be the value to finish second to the selection.
