The Notebook is flying right now and we have two more confident selections for you on Friday. We head over to Huntingdon where SHALLOW RIVER (best price 13/8) catches the eye for Fergal O’Brien. This horse has been a work in progress so far and showed a good attitude to open his account in a bumper at Wincanton last month. He was entitled to do that given the promise he had showed prior to that and he could be a nice prospect now sent hurdling. I think as long as inexperience doesn’t cost him he should make a winning start over timber. Big Boy Bobby is the obvious threat for Alan King. He achieved a decent level of form on the Flat for Roger Charlton and showed potential when second at Hereford. That experience will do him good so he looks the one to give the selection a race.

Classy Dame often finds a way to lose and that was very much the case over C&D again last time where she found trouble before running on again. She is entitled to go well but I think I want to oppose and ENFRANCHISE (best price 15/8) catches the eye. This Invincible Spirit filly has a more unexposed profile and won over a mile here back in November last year. She has run really well in defeat since and went down just a length over track and trip last time. She hit the line strong and with that under her belt I think she can go one better. Fountain Cross looks the danger now with Alan King. He ran well on stable debut to finish second at Wolverhampton and that sort of form puts him right in the mix here. Mighty Power likes it here but has a bit to prove after that poor run last time when down the field.
