Pied Piper made a bright start winning over hurdles on debut for this yard at Punchestown last month. He will need to improve on that to follow up though and he didn’t entirely convince with his jumping. I think he is a bit short and I much prefer the chances of ICEO (best price 15/8) for Paul Nicholls. This son of Coastal Path is a perfect 2-2 having won on debut in France before powering clear to win by 17 lengths on debut for this yard at Kempton last month. He looks a nice horse in the making and that visual impression was backed up by the clock. This is definitely tougher but he is open to considerable improvement so may well remain unbeaten. It’s not just a two-horse race though as Internet De Sivola also has to be respected after winning well over track and trip last time.

16:30 Kempton

We head to the AW at Kempton on Saturday night for our second Notebook runner of the day and NO DIGGITY (best price 2/1) deserves to get his head back in front. He has missed by a nose the last twice and has finished runner-up on his last 3 starts now. He looked particularly unlucky last time and has a massive chance off the same mark here. This doesn’t look a race with any strength in depth so it looks a really good opportunity on paper. Extracuricular has run well the last twice and that form should see her involved again. Last time out winner Pedestal could be a bigger danger though as he impressed over track and trip last time and a repeat would see him give the selection something to think about. Alba Del Sole isn’t one to trust but might be value to hit the frame.
