The Colin Tizzard trained SHERBORNE (best priced at 5-1) has achieved more over a trip of 2 miles than expected and he should now progress with this increase in distance. The six-year-old is a half-brother to Scottish Grand National winner Joe Farrell so his victory at Lingfield last time in a novice hurdle over 2 miles can definitely be upgraded.

Sherborne showed a good attitude to win by a neck last time staying on well over 2 miles giving the impression that this step up to 2m4f will suit him well. He makes his handicap debut off a mark of 115 and should run well following a 64 day break with four places on offer.

Sherborne - 0.5pts e/w @ 5/1

The Ali Stronge trained STORM MELODY (best priced at 11-2) has a really consistent profile at Lingfield on the AW with form figures of 15454112 in his career. His most recent two starts have come over this course and distance where he won off a mark of 66 before finishing 2nd off a mark of 69.

Storm Melody finished 2 ½ lengths behind the winner Strong Power that day but that rival was completing a hat-trick and was extremely well handicapped under a 10lb penalty and is now rated 11lbs higher. Storm Melody still finished two lengths ahead of the third so I think the nine-year-old is lucky to be unchanged off a mark of 69 and he should run well with Rab Havlin once again taking the ride.

Storm Melody - 0.5pts e/w @ 11/2

MILL GREEN (best priced at 9-1) has outran odds of 66/1 and 40/1 to finish 6th and 7th in competitive handicaps at the Cheltenham Festival the previous two seasons so it is interesting that he runs in this Pertemps Qualifier. The Nicky Henderson trained ten-year-old won over fences in May at Ffos Las but following a poor jumping display prior to his fall last time at Worcester, connections have decided to revert him back to the smaller obstacles.

Mill Green has always stayed on well over intermediate trips shaping as if this step up to 3m1f should suit and he should run well off a 4lb lower mark than his festival runs.
