This looks a good chance for recent Plumpton winner TARA ITI to follow up for Gary Moore. He was a useful horse on the Flat for Ed Dunlop and while he took some time to get his act together over hurdles he clocked a career-best to win at Plumpton last month and a 7lb rise is unlikely to stop him. The form looks solid and he remains unexposed so looks worth siding with. Sweet Spirit is lightly raced for her age but she has been beaten far enough on two starts for her new yard this season and is going to need to improve a fair bit to get seriously competitive. Scrutinise shaped as though he might be returning to form at Stratford but failed to build on that over C&D last time so has a bit to prove on the balance of his recent form.

Sweet Mist was impressive on her nursery debut at Newcastle last time, bolting up by a wide margin. The handicapper hasn’t missed her though up 13lb and that makes life a lot tougher. I prefer the chances of ROXZOFF for Charlie Hills and Kieran Shoemark. This son of Zoffany did well to overcome a wide draw at Wolverhampton last time and with further improvement to come he looks handicapped to strike again. I think he’ll be seen to better effect if they go a good gallop. That isn’t always guaranteed in a small field but main market rival Sweet Mist might have to make her own running which wouldn’t be ideal for her. Roamin In Gloamin is a solid yardstick but definitely needs more on what we’ve seen to win this. Kensington Agent has gone off the boil but is also respected.
