I know BERNARD SPIERPOINT was denied the four-timer over this trip at Southwell last month but given the horse that beat him has won convincingly since the form has a strong look to it now. He won so easily before that and I’ll be surprised if he still isn’t well handicapped off a mark of just 59. He has to prove his effectiveness at this track but apart from that has plenty going for him again. I think the betting has it right and Eeh Bah Gum is the most likely danger. He is on a long losing run which dates back to 2018 but did go down just half a length at Southwell and if he can back that up here he might be the one finishing closest. Joshua R has also forgot how to win but ran well when runner-up here last month albeit that form has been let down by the winner since.
