Number-wise, the race of Town Moor was well beyond the standard of an average maiden hurdle and today’s contest looks the natural stepping stone to find out whether he’s Cheltenham material without absolutely busting his brains. Hopefully he will come through his stiffest test to date with flying colours and if so, the scopey six-year-old might well be one of the most interesting outsiders in the opener on day two of the festival.

This promises to be an entertaining clash between two of the most attack-minded sides in the division. Liverpool deservedly cruised through to the next round of the FA Cup having taken care of Cardiff 3-1 whereas Leicester were absolutely shambolic in defeat to local rivals Nottingham Forest, going down 4-1.

That defeat increased the pressure on Brendan Rodgers but ultimately he has been dealt a bad hand with defensive injuries plaguing the squad all season. The worry would be that Rodgers has had more than enough time to come up with a solution but they haven’t improved whatsoever at the back and have been banking on scoring more goals than their opponents to get results.

After that dismal defeat to Forest it was interesting to see Rodgers call out his players, a very rare event. It will be interesting to see if he gets a response but it seems incredibly hard to imagine against this free scoring Liverpool side. The Reds welcomed Mo Salah back to training midweek after his AFCON efforts but it’s highly unlikely that he will come right into the XI.

Nevertheless, it’s hard to see the hosts not notching a fair few times here but given the Foxes have scored in every away game the 5/6 on both teams to score and over 2.5 goals makes plenty of appeal at Anfield on Thursday night.
