GYTO's Monday notebook double pays 8/1.

With our original Notebook runner now out I’m keen to take a chance on KANNAPOLIS here for Toby Lawes. I have to be honest he wasn’t in my Notebook as such but I definitely jotted down some notes on him when he won so easily at Warwick. He is still largely unexposed over hurdles and returned with an eye-catching second at Kempton in December. He was sent off 20/1 but was beaten just a length at the line. He is up just 2lb and with Tonto's Spirit likely to put good pace to the race he should have a good target to aim at. I’ll be surprised if he isn’t fighting this one out at the finish. Mick Maestro won over further here last time but is 5lb higher and I’m not convinced by his overall profile as he has never backed up a win before. That leaves First Impression as the most likely danger to the selection.

The majority of the field come here with something to prove so I think that makes FULL OF LIGHT a standout for Nicky Henderson. He is massively unexposed after just 4 starts and confirmed the promise of his first two runs to make a winning handicap debut over C&D in December. He ran on really well for pressure and won in determined fashion at the line. The front pair pulled readily clear from the rest so a 5lb rise looks lenient to me. He remains open to further improvement and looks to have plenty in favour again. Whistleinthedark has a fairly similar profile and looks the danger to me. He scored by a head over C&D when last seen and an opening mark of 115 makes him seriously competitive here. Of the rest Getalead is also respected but needs to jump better if he is to land a serious blow against the two mentioned.
