This is fiercely competitive so I certainly wouldn’t want to take a short price about Darver Star despite the strength of his recent form. LONGHOUSE POET clocked a career-best winning the Thyestes at Gowran Park last month. He clearly arrives here at the top of his game and he is a fascinating runner back over hurdles for the first time since March 2020. He gets weight off the likes of Ashdale Bob, Darasso and Dreal Deal and should be shorter than 15/2 in my book. The danger might turn out to be Ronald Pump but he does need to rediscover some form after struggling the last twice. This is easier so he should figure. Thedevilscoachman also catches the eye back over timber as he kept losing ground over fences. He clearly has a big engine but needs to put in a clear round of jumping to get seriously competitive.
