The Donald McCain yard remain in fantastic form with a 38% strike rate in the previous 14 days and I feel that SILVER FLYER (best priced at 11-10) should be able to remain unbeaten under rules following this race. The six-year-old was purchased for £50,000 following a four length victory in an Irish PTP and made an impressive winning stable debut at Catterick in December.

Silver Flyer won easily by nine lengths that day under Brian Hughes and the second has once again finished 2nd again on his next start to give the form some substance. Monbeg Genius, who also made a winning UK debut, looks the biggest danger to the selection but he looked in need of further than 2m5f last time at Ascot so this drop in trip is a concern. I expect this race to develop into a match late on and hopefully Silver Flyer has the superior turn of foot in conditions.

The Rebecca Menzies trained SCOTTISH ACCENT (best priced at 9-2) won this race last season and should hold strong claims of a repeat victory again this year. The nine-year-old won on heavy ground by seven lengths last season in an impressive performance off a mark of 105 and should be able to repeat that victory this year off a 3lbs higher mark.

Scottish Accent had struggled off a higher rating until bouncing back to form at Kelso last time when he won by five lengths off a mark of 104. The handicapper has raised him 4lbs for that victory up to a mark of 108 but he looks sure to run well under these conditions.

Bavington Bob is respected in his hat-trick bid but a chance is taken on EQUUS DREAMER (best priced at 7-2) who returns form a 73 day break following a wind operation with first-time cheekpieces fitted. The seven-year-old won a maiden hurdle at Hereford at this time last year but has looked a difficult ride on his two starts over fences so far this season.

Equus Dreamer raced lazily in the rear of the field last time at Bangor so the application of cheekpieces will hopefully make this gelding travel sweeter for David Bass. The Kim Bailey yard had a good weekend with Does He Know winning the Grade 2 Reynoldstown Chase and Two For Gold finishing 2nd in the Grade 1 Ascot Chase and I am hoping Equus Dreamer can continue the good form here.
