This looks a competitive 0-125 handicap hurdle but preference goes to MR GREY SKY (best priced at 3-1) who is only 6lbs higher than his impressive victory at Leicester last month. The lightly-raced eight-year-old won his first two starts in bumpers before finishing behind the likes of Grade 2 winner Master Debonair, the 143 rated novice chaser Pats Fancy and 128 rated One True King in maiden and novice hurdles.

Mr Grey Sky returned from a 370 day break with a respectable reappearance run at Lingfield before getting off the mark over hurdles last time at Leicester. The gelding made all that day under David Bass to win by 4 ¾ lengths off a mark of 113 so a 6lb rise up to a mark of 119 seems very fair. The Kim Bailey yard have started to come back into form with two winners and four places from their previous six runners and I expect him to run well.

Away from the midweek Champions League action we also have a mini slate of rearranged Premier League fixtures taking place on Wednesday evening and the meeting between high flying Liverpool and relegation-threatened Leeds looks the most eye-catching of clashes.

Despite going a goal down to Norwich on Saturday, the Reds came back to deservedly win 3-1 with goals from Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and new signing Luiz Diaz and it’s testament to the style and the timing of their recruitment that new arrivals settle in straight away and that’s certainly the case for Diaz who has impressed since coming to Merseyside.

Leeds were once again attractive going forward at times against Manchester United on Sunday but individual mistakes and simply porous defending cost them once more. That lack of steel has really come back to bite them against the league's elite and you fear for their backline here against a potent attacking outfit.

Liverpool are best price 1/6 though which offers little in terms of value. I do think the visitors can make their mark here though and at least get on the scoresheet given the way they play week in, week out. The Whites have only failed to score in six league games this season and may be able to take advantage should the hosts switch off later on as their attention goes towards the League Cup final this weekend.

With the asian goal line set at 3.75 here it may be surprising to see even-money about over 2.5 goals and both teams to score available. I think backing that at evens is a touch safer than the 13/10 on Liverpool to win and both teams to score.
