GYTO's Friday notebook double pays 9/1.

I have been waiting for EMBLEM EMPIRE (best price 13/8) to run again after a cracking run over course and distance at the end of last year. He was already in our Notebook before that after winning twice in novice company but that last run looks very good. He was 3 lengths behind United Front who won another handicap since that run easily. He finished well clear of the horse in 3rd who has won twice since so the form of the race looks rock solid. He gets to run off the same mark here and he could be one to follow for a couple of races at least.
Old Port is going for a 4-timer in here and has to be respected only up 2lbs for his fine margin win at Kempton earlier in the month. He should give the selection a run for his money but I think he may find him too good.
18:15 Wolverhampton
Plenty have noticed TOMMY TAYLOR (best price 3/1) already since he ran-up a 4-timer at Newcastle at the start for the year. He was going for 5 in-a-row last time and just fell short by under a length. He was slow away that day and would have likely gone even closer and possibly won if breaking on terms. The handicapper dropped him 1lb for that and he will take some beating here if replicating his Newcastle form.
It doesn’t look a strong race but course and distance winner Amber Island rates the main danger now down to a mark of 83. David Loughnane’s mare has won off of 85 already this year so is likely to go well here.
