14:05 Catterick
Horses for courses here with DA VINCI HAND (best price 15-8) fancied to get back to winning ways at Catterick on Tuesday. He opened his account at the fourth time of asking over fences over track and trip back in December and has held his form well since. He found that Newcastle race a bit hot but wasn’t disgraced before chasing home an improver in Can You Call last time. He runs off the same mark here and should have more to offer in this discipline yet. I think the market has it right and Getaway Jewel is probably the most likely danger. He stayed on well for fourth here last time and if handling the drop back in trip here should get competitive at least. Ben Brody is the pace angle but he needs to bounce back albeit this does look an easier contest for him so not entirely ruled out.
15:00 Leicester
Just the 3 runners heading to post for this handicap chase and I’m keen on the chances of FILE ILLICO (best price 6-4) for Jonjo O’Neill. This 7yo has taken well to fences and showed a good attitude to get back to winning ways at Wetherby in January. The second Relkadam won his next start to give the form a bit of substance. He could only finish third at Ffos Las last time but that looked quite a strong race and he will find this much easier off the same mark. I’m expecting Jonjo O’Neill junior to give him a stalking ride and it could pan out perfectly for him. Oscars Leader will push forward and has won 2 of his last 3 so should run his race but I actually think Pride Of Lecale may be the greater danger. He isn’t getting any younger but shaped well when fourth last time and the hood is off now.
