15:40 Wincanton

With the front pair nicely clear ALBERIC (best price 2/1) ran out a convincing winner over hurdles at Huntingdon when last seen back in January. That win came off the back of an excellent second at Hereford so there was certainly no fluke about it. He should have more to come now going chasing and I think this looks a good chance for him to follow up. I thought he’d be shorter than 2/1 so that looks a price worth snapping up. Eros has plenty of experience to draw upon so looks the obvious danger eased another 1lb with this stiffer test likely to help him. He remains a maiden though which has to be concerning. Richidish could take a big step forward now sent handicapping but his form is very questionable so far so it would be a guess to back him with confidence. Hard to recommend much else in a winnable race.

19:00 Kempton

I’m looking forward to seeing HARROW (best price 7/4) returning at Kempton on Wednesday night. This colt won 3 in a row before bumping into Modern Games and Trident when third in Group 3 company at Newmarket back in September. That is obviously very strong form and he has potential to be a smart horse in the making. Andrew Balding reached for a first-time hood and if he is straight enough first-up I think he is going to take a lot of beating under David Probert. The obvious threat is the Godolphin horse Blue Trail. He left his debut run behind to win impressively at Southwell but this is obviously tougher. He could be a nice horse too so has to be feared but the fav is expected to be hard to beat. Of the rest Grenoble should have more to come so isn’t entirely ruled out either. Plenty of future winners in here.
