The switch to aggressive tactics certainly seemed to suit BEBRAVEFORGLORY as he finally managed to open his account making all the running at Hereford last month. He seemed to enjoy himself that day and with further improvement to come now switched back over fences he gets a confident selection to follow up. He ran just once in this sphere on final start for Tim Vaughan and wasn’t disgraced back in fifth. He comes here with confidence high and still has potential as a chaser. He is 5lb lower than when finishing fifth at Ffos Las and is entitled to go very well more than likely off the front end again. Massini Man ran right up to form again when second at Catterick last time and has to be considered on that form. Diva’s Mix is an unexposed mare and she may emerge as a greater danger if finding some improvement first-up over fences.

The way SEVEN NO TRUMPS won on debut over fences at Lingfield was mightily impressive. I know he let supporters down at Market Rasen when last seen but he never really travelled that day and I think I’m willing to put a line through it. The form has actually worked out really well since with both the front pair winning good races since and even the fifth French Paradoxe won at Doncaster last week. He has been dropped a 1lb and almost certainly has further improvement to come in this sphere. This isn’t easy despite the small field but I think he could have the most potential of these so I’m willing to chance him again. Buster Valentine looks most likely to pick up the pieces if the selection disappoints. Frimeur De Lancray is a temperamental sort but I still think he can do better at some point so I’ll be keeping an eye on how he runs as well.
