The Robert Walford trained EDE'IFFS ELTON (best priced at 3-1) has a fantastic record at Wincanton over fences with form figures of 1121 and the eight-year-old should hold strong claims in this race. The gelding has looked progressive so far this season and showed that by winning by 21 lengths over this course and distance a month ago.
The handicapper has raised Ede’iffs 5lbs for that comfortable victory and despite his main market rival unseating his rider during the race, he is well deserving of that rise. Poppa Poutine looks the biggest danger following two runner-up efforts but preference goes to the course specialist Ede’iffs who is fitted with a first-time tongue tie.
15:10 Wincanton
Maliboo is respected in her bid for a hat-trick but preference instead goes to the Charlie Longsdon trained ECLAIR ON LINE (best priced at 11-4) who has had the form of his latest run boosted recently. The eight-year-old pulled up on his reappearance following 661 days off the track but bounced back to form last time with a 3rd placed effort at Wincanton 43 days ago.
The form of that run has been boosted by the winner Max Dynamo winning by 7 ½ lengths on his next start (now rated 14lbs higher) and the second Felton Bellevue winning by 5 lengths on his next start (now rated 10lbs higher). Éclair On Line has been raised 4lbs for that run which is fair and he should win this if replicating that form.

It will have been frustrating for connections of AMENON (best priced at 6-4) to see him finish in the places on his three starts for Paul Nicholls but he looks to have been found a great opportunity to get off the mark in this race. The seven-year-old ran below market expectations on his first run for 880 days in October but ran well to finish 2nd at Doncaster in December when fitted with a first-time tongue tie.
Amenon bettered that effort when 2nd in a handicap hurdle at Sandown 21 days ago when only beaten ¾ length off a mark of 118 and he should prove hard to beat switched back to maiden company in this race. He is officially rated 8lbs higher than main market rival Tigerbythetail in this race and he should prove hard to beat off level weights.
